Obama and Family Have Blown $85 Million and Counting in Travel Expenses

It’s good to be king. It’s not so good to pick up the king’s massive bill:

Judicial Watch announced [Monday] that it obtained records from the U.S. Secret Service revealing that its travel expenses for the First Family’s 2015 Hawaiian vacation cost taxpayers $1.2 million, which bring[s] the total cost of the vacation trip to at least $4.8 million. This was the Obamas’ eighth Hawaiian family vacation. The trip has become an annual event for the Obamas. To date, Obama’s and his family’s travel expenses total at least $85,029,819.

That running total doesn’t include all communications costs, or the costs of repositioning ships and aircraft.

Supporters like the infamous Peggy the Moocher hoped Obama would change the government into a giant coercive charity, which would bestow upon them whatever they desired at someone else’s expense. For Obama, as for most socialists, government charity starts at home.
