Will she go, or will she stay? Or, has she already left?
Those are the questions many Floridians are asking each other regarding Attorney General Pam Bondi’s political future.
Bondi is being quiet about whether she has been tapped for a job in President-elect Trump’s incoming administration. Bondi told reporters at a Human Trafficking news conference at the Tampa International Airport that she was happy with continuing to be Florida’s AG.
Bondi added that she would not talk about anything she, Trump, or his transition team, have discussed regarding her future.
“I am member of the Trump transition team. I talked to the president last week for half an hour…We talk frequently as well as with members of the family and the transition team on many issues that don’t involve me. He is committed to fighting human trafficking in this country.”
“I am very happy being attorney general with the state of Florida right now. I get to work with these great people (law enforcement) behind me every day. I am also committed to the president of the United States-elect to help make our country a better country and a great country and get back on track again.”
If Bondi goes to D.C., who will replace her?
Florida Governor Rick Scott (R) is tasked of appointing an Attorney General to fulfill Bondi’s term, if she decides to leave Tallahassee.
