Weather Advisories and Warnings Across the USA

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Severe thunderstorms with very large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible across portions of the Lower Mississippi Valley and Central Gulf Coast into Sunday morning. The threat will shift to the southeast coast to central Florida Sunday. Meanwhile in the west, heavy rain and mountain snow will continue from California to the southern Rockies.

LOCAL OVERVIEW

Numerous waves of energy will bring rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms to the area today and tonight. A vigorous low pressure system will sweep towards the region today and move northeast of the Carolinas on Monday, bringing abundant moisture and the potential for storms today and tonight. Some of the storms could be severe. Mild high pressure will move in Tuesday and Wednesday until a cold front crosses the region Wednesday night.

THREE DAY OUTLOOK




Sunday (Heavy Rain Likely, Severe Weather Possible)

Areas of fog before noon.Cloudy with highs near the low to mid 60s and winds from the northwest shifting to become light and variable before noon. Near 100% chance of rain with rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half an inch expected.

Sunday Night (Heavy rain likely, Severe weather possible near daybreak)

Cloudy, with patchy dense fog after 9 pm. Winds out of the west becoming light and variablke before midnight. Near 100% chance of rain with rainfall amounts between half and three quarters of an inch expected.




Monday
Areas of fog, dense in locations, before noon. Cloudy with highs near the low to mid 50s and winds 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph, out of the west northwest. 80% chance of rain, mainly before 3 pm. Rainfall amounts of less than a quarter of an inch expected.

Monday Night

Mostly cloudy with lows near the mid to upper 30s and winds out of the northwest 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph.




Tuesday

Sunny with highs near the mid to upper 50s.

Tuesday Night

Mostly clear with lows near the mid to upper 30s.




HAZARDS

A line of strong storms is expected to reach Macon County near daybreak this morning. A vigorous upper level system will approach the region from the west through tonight. Embedded upper energy preceding this system will will combine with marginal instability to yield scattered thunderstorms during the early morning hours today. The primary threats will be gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Severe weather…Mainly in the form of damaging winds… Will become possible by daybreak today.


A low pressure system is expected to bring heavy rains and possible thunderstorms to the region on Sunday. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a copy is posted below.

..SUNDAY...Severe weather possible. Thunderstorms are possible across the region on Sunday morning…And again Sunday evening. The primary threats will be heavy rainfall… Damaging winds… And large hail.
