As Margaret Thatcher noted, one problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money. Fortunately, Big Government can always just print more. Unfortunately for people who worked hard to acquire savings, the inevitable consequence is this:

It would be nice to think people are paying attention to what runaway government is doing to formerly prosperous Venezuela. But too few people noticed every other time socialism has failed.

Meanwhile, the ratchet continues to turn toward ever bigger government with ever bigger debt, keeping the USA on the same course as Venezuela.
