The Bet on Trump Is Already Paying Off

(Before It's News) When I was growing up my great-grandmother used to wash her tin-foil and reuse it several times before she would toss it in the trash.

When I questioned her quirky behavior, my mother proudly said, as if my great grandmother’s survival were a badge of honor.

“She lived through the Depression.”

great-depression-1It was.

Speaking of survival, her waffle iron still works. Believe it or not, I still use it on Sunday mornings to cook for my family.

My great grandmother came from a time when things were built to last. My great-grandparents even resoled their shoes several times before getting new ones.

Things have changed.

We now live in time of plenty, thus a time of waste. We save little. So if your shoe has a scuff; toss it. Toaster on the fritz? Gone. There’s always the store of more.

Our government is no different. As we’ve learned under Obama, if you’re running low on money, just print some.

The government preaches, “reduce, reuse and recycle.” Yet they don’t comply.

Government lies to the public, then use our tax dollars for the cover-up. If government breaks the rules, they just change them. If government policies fall short of expectations, who cares!

“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor…period.”

Remember that one?

Among other promises, Trump vowed to bring back jobs. If he brought back just one, he’d be more truthful than decades of former presidents.

Trump has done this.

Company after company have announced plans to rethink their corporate strategy of moving offshore.

No need to recap Carrier, as that was just the tip of the iceberg. Those jobs were saved, as Obama watched the “magic show.”

SoftBank vowed to invest $50 billion and bring 50,000 jobs to America. They recently made their first installment, hiring 5,000 American workers.

Boeing and Lockheed are revisiting their cost overruns, and Ford recently announced plans to cancel the $1.6 billion plant in Mexico.  Instead they will invest $700 million in their Michigan plant and hire 700 new workers. These are not theoretical or “accounting” moves, but real jobs. We can also add Stanley Black and Decker to the list.

If Trump stopped now and golfed his entire presidency, he would be more effective at job creation than Obama.

black_unemployment1While jobs steadily moved overseas and businesses outsourced at a record-breaking pace, we have failed to recover from the worst economic slump since the Great Depression. Obama’s magic wand was less about being effective and more about being duplicitous.

During the Obama Era, most families lost income, as the cost of living rose. Having seven children, I assure you I know the price of everything in the store. In fact, my kids think “Private Label” is a brand. My family represents one of the tragedies of the Obama Era.

Nevertheless, we are comforted by the election of Donald Trump. The word of Obama rang empty:

“We, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it. We believe that America’s prosperity must rest upon the broad shoulders of a rising middle class… Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia…know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm…”

Funny that Obama should mention Detroit. After 8 years, that city still struggles with same problems he “inherited.”
