Trump Faults ‘Tears of Senator Schumer’ for Airport Chaos

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter to decry Sen. Charles Schumer’s tears for fueling chaos at the airports over the weekend – tears the New York politico ostensibly shed to show solidarity with the subjects of the president’s order that temporarily halts them from entering America.

Sen. Charles Schumer shed some tears during a recent press conference about President Donald Trump’s executive orders on immigration.

Specifically, the executive order bars those from seven nations known around the world as terror hotspots and breeding grounds for jihadists from coming into the United States. The countries? Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Iraq and Yemen. The order’s aimed at preserving the safety and security of the American people, and keep would-be terrorists from breaching borders and setting up jihadi camp or cell on U.S. soil.

But to Schumer, the ban is targeting a specific religion, and he was overcome at a press conference on Sunday with emotion, while thinking of the sad plight of the Syrian refugee.

He shed tears while talking about the “mean-spirited and un-American” aspects of the order. Shortly after, protesters took over spots at U.S. airports to show solidarity with the refugees and would-be immigrants. Several key Democratic lawmakers joined in the protests, as well.

But Trump, in characteristic Trump fashion, took to Twitter to decry Schumer’s reaction to his orders.

He wrote in one:

“Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning. Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage, …”

And then this one, a continuation of the first:

“[P]rotesters and the tears of Senator Schumer. Secretary kelly said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!”

Trump later wrote:

“There is nothing nice about searching for terrorists before they can enter our country. This was a big part of my campaign. Study the world!”
