1974: “The sting” sweept Oscars and nobody was talking politics!

Once upon a time, I cared about the Oscars.   I guess that was before every movie star decided to give a political speech that no one cared to hear.

“The sting” with Paul Newman and Robert Redford swept the Oscars in 1974.   It also introduced Scott Japlin’s music to a lot of us.   Joplin died in 1917.    

This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen:
