At the time this exchange was considered by many to be a direct threat to Trump. But Schumer has been on the hill for a long time and what he is actually doing is warning Mr. Trump about the community’s devious ways. ‘Threaten them and they will get you’, in essence is what he says.
It appears he was right. The stories about the Trump campaign having contacts with Russian leaders came from them. Now they have set up a false email account for General Flynn and used it to show that he, too was in contact with Russians.
“CIA broke the law to take out its critic General Flynn”
From American Thinker
Make no mistake: we have just witnessed an operation by members of the CIA to take out a high official of our own government. An agency widely believed to have brought down democratically elected governments overseas is now practicing the same dark arts in domestic American politics.”
Also, someone who would know tells us that the attack came from the Obama White House:
Even some on the left are worried that our spy agencies are able to take out high-level cabinet officers.
“America’s spies anonymously took down Michael Flynn. That is deeply worrying.”
The United States is much better off without Michael Flynn serving as national security adviser. But no one should be cheering the way he was brought down.
The whole episode is evidence of the precipitous and ongoing collapse of America’s democratic institutions — not a sign of their resiliency. Flynn’s ouster was a soft coup (or political assassination) engineered by anonymous intelligence community bureaucrats. The results might be salutary, but this isn’t the way a liberal democracy is supposed to function.”
And even, for what it’s worth, the Russians say the reports are false.
So, have we just witnessed a ‘Soft Coup’ that took out Flynn? Even worse, how many other Trump advisors have they targeted?
Why would they do it? Simply to de-legitimize Trump and his team is plenty of reason. Democrat politicians are jumping on the allegations and calling them true. It looks like an organized campaign from where I sit.
