The supposed “silencing” of the unsilenceable loudmouth Elizabeth Warren was a sham, but who was pulling a fast one on whom?
With calculated belligerence, the self-proclaimed Indian managed to acquire a soapbox and a megaphone by getting herself shut up at last on the Senate floor. No one would have listened to her tedious late night hectoring before a mostly empty chamber; now the whole world has heard about it, #LetLizSpeak was trending on Twitter, and moonbats are buying “She Persisted” t-shirts.
A clever move by Fauxcahontas? Maybe. But it might have been a cleverer move by Mitch McConnell:
By silencing her on the Senate floor, McConnell did more than shine a white-hot spotlight on her argument against Jeff Sessions as the nominee for attorney general. He elevated Warren to the leader of the Democratic opposition, and practically rebranded her as The Woman Who Would Not Be Silenced. …
McConnell invoked a rule that prevents senators from disparaging their fellow lawmakers. When Warren persisted, the majority leader engineered a party-line vote that stripped her of the right to speak on the Sessions nomination.
The tactic was a bit puzzling, since there was no question that Sessions would be easily confirmed, as he was last night. As a shrewd tactician, McConnell had to know that his move would mushroom into a huge story. And Warren had to know that if she kept reading the letter, she would lose the parliamentary battle.
I can only conclude that McConnell saw an advantage in making Warren the face of the opposing party.
That is because Elizabeth Warren is intensely unlikable even by the standards of wealthy socialists. Few regular Americans can stomach this shrill, malevolent fraud. It takes Stuart Varney less than 2 minutes to dismantle her:

Yet the media fell for the spectacle hook, line, and sinker, stamping its feet in rage as if Warren had somehow been oppressed, raising her up on its shoulders as a crybully heroine.
Liberal journalists actually find her appealing, and are so oblivious as not to realize that outside their elitist bubble, she is rightfully loathed as a strident ultra-leftist. The Democrats and their media have learned nothing from the last election.
But at least this farce should help Fauxcahontas’ book sales.
