The trailer has been taken down. This “re-enactment” was likely to have been a whitewash, anyway. Were they going to show Omar going to mosque, praying five times a day, and calling 9/11 to proclaim his allegiance to Allah and the Islamic State? Almost certainly not.
“Fury at Univision’s plans to broadcast a detailed re-enactment of the Pulse nightclub massacre,” by Emily Chan, Mailonline, February 24, 2017:
A television network has been slammed for its plans to broadcast a detailed re-enactment of the Pulse nightclub massacre.
Univision’s weekly news show Crónicas de Sábado is set to air an episode titled Baño de Sangre, or Blood Bath, on Saturday.
The program will include interviews from survivors of the attack in Orlando that left 49 people dead, as well as a re-enactment of the shooting.
Actors and special effects have been used to show what happened during the deadly attack, NBC News reported.
The decision to broadcast the show has sparked outrage from the LGBT community in Orlando.
Pulse nightclub owner Barbara Poma posted on Crónicas de Sábado’s Facebook page: ‘Shame on you and Shame on Univision!
‘The lack of respect and humanity for these grieving families and traumatized survivors is incomprehensible.’
Survivor Brandon Wolf added: ‘To see @CronicasSabado completely disrespect myself and other survivors is disgusting. Greed in its highest form. We will resist you.’
Carlos Carbonell also commented: ‘#Orlando is still healing, pull your incredibly insensitive re-enactment of the Pulse tragedy. Have a heart.’
A trailer for the episode was posted on social media by Univision, but has now been taken down….
