We remember Mr. Ed, the talking horse (1948-79)

The great talking horse Mr. Ed died in 1979 at age 31.

We grew up watching Mr. Ed, although more have probably seen it on reruns.   It was a great show and the theme was super:

“A horse is a horse, of course, of course,And no one can talk to a horse, of courseThat is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. EdGo right to the source and ask the horse,He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorseHe’s always on a steady course, talk to Mr. Ed.People yackety yak on the street and waste the time of dayBut Mr. Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.A horse is a horse, of course, of course,And no one can talk to a horse, of courseThat is of course unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.”
