Colin Kaepernick’s allegedly noble principles did not allow him to stand for the national anthem because the country that pays him $millions per year to be lousy at his profession oppresses people of his skin color in some undefined way. But now these principles have become inconvenient. Consequently, they go out the window:
The controversial player will stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” next season, according to sources who spoke to ESPN Thursday. …
According to the ESPN report, Kaepernick “no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created” — a change that comes one day after the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed that the veteran quarterback has decided to opt out of his 49ers contract and is now a free agent.
No longer under contract with a terrible team that has no decent quarterback, Kaepernick is now on the free market, where his odious political stance comes at a cost. Sports media moonbats laud Kaepernick, but fans rightfully despise him, which makes him less valuable to team owners. It would be a shame if an oppressed person of color such as himself couldn’t sign a contract for at least $15,600,000 per year.
