Progressives take their name from their strategy. Their objectives are so tyrannical and insane that virtually everyone would rebel vehemently if they were imposed all at once. Imposing them by increments, however, results in minimal resistance. For example, if it were up to moonbats, eating a normal human diet would be criminally punishable as animal cruelty. Reflecting the progress toward this objective, Nicholas Seafoods of Australia was fined $1,500 for animal cruelty for killing lobsters:
According to the Guardian’s description of what happened, workers at Nicholas Seafoods were seen by investigators “butchering and dismembering lobsters with a band saw, without adequately stunning or killing them.” The lobsters’ tails were cut from their bodies while the animals were still alive, in violation of local animal cruelty laws, and led to a conviction that may be the first of its kind in the world.
It’s only a matter of time before the standard cooking practice of boiling lobsters alive results in chefs hauled off in handcuffs.
The author of the WaPo piece linked above opines that we should “let the lobsters live.”
Incidentally, a lobster’s brain is the same size as a grasshopper’s. Maybe this is what endears the hideous but tasty creatures to moonbats.
Once full human rights have been granted for lobsters, comparably intelligent cockroaches may be next.
