When Trump honored fallen SEAL Ryan Owens Tuesday night, Owens’ widow Carryn received a 2-minute standing ovation. It was a poignant moment, but I can’t say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Democrats weren’t really into it:
A majority of congressional Democrats who stood up to clap sat down before the applause was finished. At the 2:49 mark in the above video [available here], NBC’s cameras showed several Democrats sitting in their seats, with very few appearing to clap for Owens.
Someone had to stop clapping first, or they would be there clapping still. But some prominent Democrats displayed virtually no respect at all for Ryan Owens’ sacrifice or Carryn Owens’ grief:
[C]ameras captured top Democrat Reps. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) staying firmly seated, seemingly emotionless, and refusing to clap for Owens.
Though it cannot be concluded from the short clip [available here] if they clapped at any point during the tribute, those who were in attendance, including Independent Journal Review’s Chief Content Officer Benny Johnson, alleged that the while the trio clapped during Owens’ intro, they did not clap at all during the 2 minute standing ovation.
The video below highlights former Chairmoonbat of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wassermann Schultz and current Deputy Chairmoonbat Keith Ellison refusing to honor the hero and his widow or even to stop yapping as others did so:
One Ryan Owens is worth any number of Debbie Wassermann Schultzes or Keith Ellisons.
