Weak, dry high pressure will settle into the region today, then drift east off the Florida coast by Saturday. Moisture and unstable conditions will return to the region over the weekend, as a cold front slowly approaches from the northwest.

On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC.
