Sacramento Provides Free Shared Eco-Vehicles for Public Housing Denizens

Now that it is becoming a “right” to have health insurance even if it must be coercively financed by others, other goods and services are sure to follow, starting with housing, food, and transportation:

On Friday, Sacramento launched a pilot program that put eight shared electric Kia Souls at public housing sites. Up to 300 residents can apply for on-demand access to the vehicles, with no charge for maintenance, insurance or juicing up the battery.

As the saying goes, no one washes a rental car. Imagine the treatment a free shared car at a public housing hellhole will get. Needless to say, the electro-moonbatmobiles will soon require replacement. No worries; someone else pays for them.

The program is funded through a $1.3 million grant from the California Air Resources Board using cap-and-trade funds that businesses pay to offset their carbon emissions.

Wait a minute; those costs are passed along to consumers. That someone else who pays for this kind of moonbattery is us.

The laughably foolish program is unlikely to last longer than Pronto, Seattle’s moronic bike share debacle. But in the meantime, Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg barks that the free cars are “the definition of environmental justice.”
