‘Flyover Country’ Democrats Want To Take Party Control Away From Coastal Dems

One oddly-named former MSNBC hostess and three Congresscritters are not much of a power base. I wouldn’t expect much. How can they call their PAC a ‘SuperPAC’?

Frustrated with the leadership in their party, some heartland Democrats are looking to decouple themselves from Nancy Pelosi and the other coastal elites calling the shots.

The People’s House Project, a super PAC founded by former MSNBC host Krystal Ball, aims to recruit candidates and raise money in a structure separate from national Democrats.

The reason? Democrats have veered too far to the left and chosen a message that’s toxic in much of the United States.

One potential problem identified by some political analysts is the ability of Republicans to run attack ads tying Democrats to the party’s coastal and culturally liberal wing.

Ball is joined by three congressmen, Reps. Dan Kildee (D-MI), John Yarmuth (D-KY), and Tim Ryan (D-OH), who unsuccessfully challenged Pelosi for House Minority Leader last year.”
