Nebraska Democratic Party Black Caucus Chairwoman Finds Alexandria Violence “So Funny”

Democrats are more sophisticated than the rest of us. If you don’t believe me, just ask one. So maybe the humor here went over my head:

Chelsey Gentry-Tipton of Omaha said in statement that she will not resign as chairwoman of the [Nebraska Democratic] party’s Black Caucus…

The Nebraska party’s leadership asked Gentry-Tipton to step down Wednesday, several hours after she wrote, in a Facebook thread about the shooting … in Alexandria, Virginia, “Watching the congressman crying on live tv abt the trauma they experienced. Y is this so funny tho?”

Later, in the same thread, she stated, “The very people that push pro NRA legislation in efforts to pad their pockets with complete disregard for human life. Yeah, having a hard time feeling bad for them.”

If we are going to indulge in morbid humor, we might have a good laugh at a representative of a party that aggressively advocates abortion accusing others of disregard for human life.

Most if not all advocates of gun rights believe the compelling statistics showing that more guns result in less violence, due to the preventative effect of law-abiding citizens being able to defend themselves. At the very worst they are mistaken, not malevolent. No one advocates gun violence the way liberals advocate abortion — although some liberals do encourage the sort of violence we saw in Alexandria with their rhetoric.
