Senator McCain hit a grand slam at CPAC today. He said what he needed to say. You will see conservatives line up behind him.
Last year, Sen. McCain joined Sen. Ted Kennedy on something called “comprehensive immigration reform”. It turned out to be a nightmare. It disconnected him from conservatives.
A year later, McCain (and Pres. Bush) understand the commotion that this proposed legislation created in the party’s base. McCain and Bush, as well as others, meant well. I give them credit for trying to resolve a problem.
Unlike Dems, who criticize but do not offer solutions, McCain and Bush tried to do something. Again, it did not work and now we must move on to a different solution.
I think that he learned his lesson. McCain is now on board with the idea that the border must be secured before any resolution can be discussed. On that one, I agree!
Beyond immigration, McCain is in line with the base on most issues.
Best of all, McCain understands the issue of our times, i.e. the war on terror!
Will McCain and CPAC make up? Yes they will.

I’m excited about getting involved in McCain’s campaign. He can certainly make my day by selecting Romney as the VP.
McCain is a candidate worth fighting for!
