Today, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) is celebrating her 10-year anniversary of defeating breast cancer.

In a statement on Twitter, the Florida congresswoman said that he had “so much to be grateful for, and was excited to “share” the progress that has been made in the effort to eradicate cancer.

“Tomorrow is an especially meaningful day for my family. I truly have so much to be grateful for and I’m excited to share with you the incredible progress we’ve made for breast cancer patients across this country.”Rep.Debbie Wasserman Schultz

During my trip to Washington, D.C. this week, I ran into Rep.Wasserman Schultz in the Capitol after votes, much to her surprise.

We greeted each other with a warm embrace and peck on the check, before chatting a bit about a few things, mainly about my possible run for congress.

Wasserman Schultz seemed moved when I recognized the anniversary, and went on to express her feelings about what that day meant to her and her family.

Unexpectedly, yet I somewhat expected her to ask me, she asked me about my exploratory congressional run.

Debbie asked me if I was “really running,” prompting me to respond, “I am seriously considering a run for congress.”

We both let out a chuckle.

When I asked Debbie for her endorsement she appeared taken back with amusement, letting out a  friendly laughed, and sarcastically agreed to endorse my congressional run for office.

While my encounter with Debbie was all in good fun, many American still disagree with her politics and brash, matter-of-fact way about herself, I could see that other side of Rep. Wasserman Schultz that most have not seen.

Battling and defeating cancer is not like winning a hotly contested congressional race, its more taxing on your mind and family. You can lose a race and move on with your life, but if you lose against cancer, you lose everything.

Congratulations Debbie. I am truly happy for you and your family.

God bless you.

Now, can I put out that endorsement? Hee Hee
