Overeager for Dirt, Adam Schiff Hilariously Falls for Russian Prank

If you want evidence of collusion with Russians, give up on Trump; if there were anything there, we would know it by now. Democrats are the ones eager to collude. The triangle formed by the Hillary campaign, the Russian-sourced Steele dossier, and Obama’s politicized FBI are one example. Hillary granting Russia access to our uranium evidently in return for Clinton Foundation donations is another. At least Adam Schiff, ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, thought the Russian pranksters he tried to collude with were Ukrainian:

On an audio recording of the prank call posted online, Adam Schiff can be heard discussing the committee’s Russia investigation and increasingly bizarre allegations about Trump with a man who claimed to be Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament.

The call, made a year ago, was actually from two Russian comedians nicknamed ‘Vovan’ and ‘Lexus’ who have become notorious for their phony calls to high-ranking American officials and celebrities…

Schiff appeared to be taking notes on the conversation and repeatedly asked for spellings of names and documentation he could send to the FBI.

An email to the pranksters from Schiff’s staff described the 8-minute conversation as “productive.” Another expressed eagerness to “pick up materials.”

During the call, the pranksters concocted an elaborate story about Trump having a tryst with a Russian glamour model named Olga Buzova after a Miss Universe pageant in 2013, which led to Vladimir Putin obtaining nude photos of the president. …

Buzova ‘got compromising materials on Trump after their short relations,’ one of the pranksters told Schiff.

‘And what’s the nature of the Kompromat?’ asked Schiff.

‘Well, there were pictures of naked Trump,’ said the caller.

It is unclear whether Schiff intended to embarrass Trump by making the photos public, or wanted them for his private collection.

The pranksters employed references to Weather Is Good on Deribasovskaya, It Rains Again on Brighton Beach, a Russian-American comedy about secret agents (some of which was filmed in the Trump Taj Mahal; Trump is acknowledged in the credits). They even offered to extradite Buzova so that she could be placed in “your special jail Guantanamo.” Kudos to the pranksters for not bursting into laughter as Schiff gave every indication of falling for all of it.
