Bathroom Brawl: Obama Administration Using Transgendered to Further Their School Privatization Agenda

Under the left cover of President Barack Obama, his administration has been steadfast in it’s pursuit of the reactionary privatization of the entire public school system. From start to finish, “progressive” President Obama has been working diligently to neoliberalize as much of the state of the United States as he could possibly get away with.

This ideology of wringing profits from state functions dates back to Augusto Pinochet’s neoliberal “miracle of Chile”: the Milton Friedman/ Henry Kissinger free-market experiment that took place after the CIA-backed coup in 1973 (on Sept. 11th, 1973 to be exact)

We can now add to his previous attempts at mass firings, the “Race to the Top” and under-funding destabilization campaigns, their most recent effort to undermine the institution of public education: the Bathroom Brawl crisis.

When presidents embark on their last year in office, they tend to attempt to wrap-up as many dangling projects as they can in service to the masters of the universe that they serve. Hence we are now looking at yet another set of phony sarin gas reports from Syria, a project President Peace Prize would love to bring to a conclusion prior to his leaving office. Getting the TPP and the TTIP signed and delivered is another project he would like to accomplish before he leaves.

We can add to that his desire to bring the school privatization project further along before he and his family clean out the linen closet at 1600.

As is often the case, neoliberal globalists cloak their efforts in humanitarian garb. With the regime change of Iraq it was WMDs and saving the people from Saddam. In Libya it was Gaddafi’s “slaughtering of the innocents” that mandated their intervention.  With the privatization of the intelligence and security industrial complex, it was the hero hipster “Edward Snowden” and his alternate life-styled mouthpiece, Glenn Greenwald.

“Bring Back Our Girls”, “STOP KONY”, “Love Malala”, “Je Suis Charlie” the list of their humanitarian campaigns goes on and on, each and every one of them designed to gin-up support for military action/spending somewhere (in these cases: Africa, Pakistan and Europe)

Does anyone recall how they used the threat of taking away unemployment benefits in order to push a ‘compromise’ and install the first wave of austerity measures on us a couple years ago?

In congress right now, Obama wants 1.9 billion dollars to “fight the zika virus” which is basically a handout to Big Pharma. It’s locked up in committee with many republicans voting against it. So, we suddenly have the first “confirmed” zika virus case which has supposedly produced a child with Microcephaly in Puerto Rico. That’s the first time in US history that it’s ever happened and of course, the family wishes to remain anonymous. What are the odds of timing like that?

Today we are looking at a situation where the Department of Justice is threatening to take away federal funding from public schools in states that do not comply with their order to allow young people to use whatever bathroom they happen to identify with.

Say what you will about the issue of transgender identification, this move is clearly designed for one thing: to frighten and anger a certain segment of the population and therefore give the leadership in certain states the ability to reject even more federal funding for public schools, leaving them even more destabilized and ready for privatization in those states.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Friday his state would give up all federal education funding in order to avoid complying with the gender equity law Title IX in how trans students are treated…

The Obama administration on Friday released significant guidance reinforcing that the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice interpret Title IX to prohibit discrimination against transgender students. This means, the guidance said, that schools must allow trans student to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity, and universities should do the same when it comes to sex-segregated campus housing.

Other Republican state officials, including Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, have also condemned the Obama administration’s directive, calling on school districts to disregard the guidance. Huffington Post

Some have said that the Obama administration will not take it so far as to withhold federal funding that pays for things like college educations for poor students, teacher’s salaries and breakfast and lunch programs for kids in k thru 12, but that’s not really the issue. The neoliberal republicans who run the states involved will use this as an opportunity to refuse said funding, using the “over reach” of the federal government as the excuse and their public will commend them for it. Of course, it’s an opportunity provided to them by a neoliberal presidential administration which is committed to the privatization of public schools.

The DOJ is retaining the option of moving to terminate federal funding from the department, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Monday…

But there is much more money at stake from the Education Department than from the DOJ. North Carolina received around $38 million over four years from various Justice Department grants, but its K-12 schools took $1.3 billion in just 2015-2016 through federal grants focused on improving education, helping students with disabilities and addressing childhood poverty. Federal funding at the K-12 level covers the salaries of about 7,700 employees, or 7.4 percent of all school personnel in the Tar Heel State…

The Department of Justice doesn’t give a shit about gender equality in the public school system. They don’t care about transgendered children, straight ones or gay ones. If they did, they wouldn’t be making so many of them suffer under their “Race to the Bottom” program or by defunding their schools and underpaying their teachers. For that matter, don’t you think a few of those kids they bomb in Pakistan, Iraq, Syria or Yemen might just happen to be transgendered? Think they give a shit about them? Of course not. This is NOT a humanitarian regime we live under.

And pay no attention to idiots trying to tell you the Obama plan is to make more gay people and thus depopulate the planet like that. No one becomes gay because a girl wearing pants is peeing in the stall next to them. That’s just stupid.

As is always the case with these criminals, their efforts are about money. A lot of money. And in this case it’s about helping the states further defund public education so they can on with the process of school privatization. And that’s it.

This is just one more assault on the public education system brought to you by our very own Augusto Pinochet White House.
