“Deadly Cold Front Entering Lower 48 from Alaska”
Cold Records to be smashed as Nation goes well below Zero
by Newsroom

“A blast of Arctic air is in Alaska today and moving southeastward toward the lower 48 United States. As the cold moves, it will shatter 100 year records for bitter cold, all the way to New York City by next weekend, December 9 thru 11. Everywhere the cold mass travels will see temperatures about 36°F BELOW AVERAGE for this time of year!  So if the typical “average” for your area this time of year is 30° you can expect to see Minus 6° F as the actual temperature.

PREPARE:
Clothing: Persons should be preparing for this weather by making certain their summer and fall clothing is put away, and their winter clothing is out and ready for use. When you go out in this type of weather, wear LAYERS of clothing.  The more layers the better because each layer helps keep heat in and cold out. Wear a hat! Your brain needs- and get- the most blood flow in your body and your head is where a majority of your body heat escapes in the severe cold. Wearing a hat helps tremendously so do it!

Houses: Windows needing to be caulked should be done immediately to prevent drafts in homes and allow the caulking to dry for a day or two before the frigid weather arrives.
• Furnaces should be tested, fueled and their air filters cleaned or replaced with new filters. If your furnace is a steam boiler, make certain the water level in the furnace is high enough to make steam.
• If you have baseboard heat, vacuum out the baseboards to remove dust and cob webs. This will allow better air flow and heat distribution.
• Check the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Winter fires are common and you want your family alerted if things go wrong in the middle of the night.
• If you have a fireplace or wood burning stove, make certain the chimney is cleaned out before using the stove or fire place. Stack wood close to where it will be used to minimize effort carrying it back and forth.  Once you light the fire, keep it lit.  It’s far better to keep the heat cranking than it is to catch-up after allowing the fire to go out.

Motor Vehicles: Vehicles should be checked for proper anti-freeze mix and radiator levels to avoid cracking engine blocks or blowing “freeze-out” plugs when the frigid air arrives.
• Tires tend to go soft when severe cold arrives, so check your tire pressure BEFORE using your vehicle in the morning and inflate the tires to the correct pressure.
• Is it time for new windshield wipers to deal with snow or sleet? Get it done!
• Do you have Jumper Cables in case your battery goes dead. Cold is tough on batteries, so having a set of jumper cables is a good idea.
• Pack a flash light with fresh batteries, and an Emergency blanket to keep warm if your break down.
• Chewable Granola bars or other such packaged food may be a good idea for a snack if you get stuck in the car somewhere.”

Well, if this is true and it happens, then all of the fucking hotheads should be cooled down a bit.

No, because global warming is not such a direct term as people think. Global Warming is responsible for extremes in both directions.

        • DISPENSER

Global Warming is a lot of hot air.
Environmentalist have a long history of lying, exaggerating, and blowing high carbon smoke up your ass.
They always present the most extreme scenario, and manipulate data.
The Climate, just like the weather fluctuates, and changes over a year, or 20 years are just tiny blips in the data. The Earth has been much warmer, and much colder in the past.
While a severe cold front may, or may not arrive in the next few weeks, if you look at historical data, something similar happens almost every year at this time.

            Yeah, its called Winter.

Global Warming doesn’t exist anymore. Today we speak of Climate Change.

    • dufus

      damn global warming.

      • Air Quotes Shill Air Quotes

        Exactly.

Factors that come into play for regional weather (and indeed global weather) are Earth’s seasons, ocean patterns, upper winds, Arctic sea ice, and the shifting shape of the jet stream (see below). These factors can lead to extreme weather in various portions of northern mid-latitudes—such that some places get tons of snow repeatedly while others are unseasonably warm.

A recent study on the North Pacific circulation patterns over the past 1.2 million years determined that sea ice on coastal areas can be an important factor in ocean circulation, therefore influencing climate at global and regional levels. In addition to affecting the ocean circulation patterns, Arctic sea ice is melting more rapidly and for longer periods each year, and is unable to replenish itself at the historical thickness levels in the briefer, warmer winter season. This can destabilize the polar vortex (see below) and raise the barometric pressure within it.

The polar vortex, or stratospheric jet stream, is a large area of low pressure and cold air surrounding both of Earth’s poles. It can expand or shift, such as during the very cold winters of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015, when it sent cold, Arctic air down into the central and eastern U.S., all the way to Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama. The expansion and shifting of the polar vortex to various degrees is regular occurrence during the winter.

The polar vortex was notably unstable during several recent winter seasons, which in turn influenced the jet stream. For example, during the 2011/2012 winter, there was a shift in the position of the jet stream. Typically New England, the Great Lakes, and parts of the Great Plains sit north of the jet stream and remain cold in the winter season. However, the 2011/2012 position of the jet stream meant these regions were south of it for most of the winter, which helped produce the fourth warmest U.S. winter on record. The lack of snowfall and snowpack for the winter of 2011/2012 and the following spring was a precursor to the large drought episode that impacted two-thirds of the nation during the following summer and autumn.

During the winter of 2013/2014, an opposite shift of the jet stream left parts of the U.S. with freezing weather and parts of Russia experiencing much warmer weather than usual. Similar conditions in the winter of 2014/2015 saw Boston break its all time seasonal snow record, as well as a record stretch of 43 days with temperatures below 40⁰F.

Global warming is causing more intense rain and snowstorms in the United States.

Global warming means hotter air, and hotter air can hold more moisture. This translates into heavier precipitation in the form of more intense rain or snow, simply because more moisture is available to storms. Therefore, less of a region’s precipitation is likely to fall in light storms and more of it in heavy storms.

In the U.S., the amount of rain or snow falling in the heaviest one percent of storms has increased nationally over the last half century—with the largest increases in the Northeast, Great Plains, Midwest, and Southeast. The Third National Climate Assessment shows that some regions of the country have seen as much as a 71 percent increase in the amount of rain or snow falling in the heaviest storms between 1958 and 2012.

Global warming is also causing warmer spring weather to arrive earlier than it used to. Overall, spring weather is already arriving 10 days earlier than it used to. A recent study estimated that the median onset of plant growth in spring will happen three weeks earlier over the next century, as a result of rising global temperatures. In California’s Sierra Nevada, the onset of spring has already been happening three weeks earlier than historical records, with an immense amount of variability—meaning it is hard to plan for the average earlier spring onset.

OMG! It’s WINTER! Run Hide! Panic! Riot! Fling yourselves off a cliff it’s WINTER! I really dislike pieces that try to panic people about things they should be prepared for every day regardless.

It is always a good idea to be prepared. If you live up north you know that your preparations should include emergency heat, and food. In the south this is the end of hurricane and tornado season. We have to wrap pipes and bring plants and pets indoors. This IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

I’ve been watching this site steady and there is no such deadly cold front unless they create one with HAARP and chemicals. They have done it in the past. They had a nasty cold front in Utah area and warmer temperatures all around it. Watch them close.

      This is called “winter”.

      A mysterious time of year.

The inner flat earth inhabitants use this time of year, to blow cold air into parts of the world that are normally warm from May until October.

The do this to battle the reptilian aliens running the world.

Sometimes this “winter” is “mild”. Sometimes it is “really cold”.

This year, the flat earth, inner earth, inhabitants are unleashing a beast known as “La Niña”.

La Niña will bring colder than normal temperatures.

      Maybe.

      So be afraid.

But not really, cause you probably own a coat, and have some sort of house or apartment.

      So you know…Whatever.

      Oh how I dread Winter.

    • Icecharge

Largely, based on my own life experience of 76+ years, my observations and private studies, I largely agree although I am living in Lapland of Finland at the Arctic circle, on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. There are no such horrific frosts anymore like in my childhood, in my youth and still in the couple of decades of the last century.

Finland lies between about the same parallels as Alaska but we have no permafrost except in a small area of the northwestern Lapland. The climate has been warming with some undulation for decades. New flora and fauna species are sneaking slowly northwards and enriching our nature. (Well, not all new species are good.) Heating houses like the house of me and my family, has become less expensive. Less snow piling up during the winter time has eased our snow work. It is easier to get cars running and to use them etc. Overall, the life of the northern people has become and is becoming less troublesome. I am satisfied and why not but… Is the “climate change” so good after all as I had thought it to be for us the northern people?

A troublesome qualm rose into my mind in the late winter 2005. The spring was coming again and I was pondering a remarkable Arctic and Subarctic phenomenon that we call the ice-shedding. It is an annual physical phenomenon that is still studied oddly poorly. The northern rivers freeze in winter. Then in spring, they melt but not peacefully. After they have melted enough, they surprisingly and violently begin to shed their ice-cover in a short-time process, sending masses of ice riding upon flood water down stream and on the shores.

After pondering the climate warming in general and the Arctic warming particularly, it hit into my mind that in some day a huge ice-shedding could start on the glacier of Greenland with the same physics as in an ice-shedding river but in a gigantic scale? The melting ice of the Arctic Ocean constitutes not a danger because it floats. Its melting only eases the Arctic seafaring but the glacier of Greenland is totally different by its nature although the element is the same – the ice.

I have written a book about the subject with the name “Ice-Shedding of Ages” in which I have done many physical calculations and conclusions, getting results that do not only show that a gigantic ice-shedding of Greenland is not only possible but in fact probable due to the fast warming Arctic climate. It does not matter if there is a global warming taking place or not when there is a fact that the Arctic is warming at an accelerating pace, what ever the causes are. The traditional climate zones are not holding anymore and there are always enough heat in the Tropic and Sub-Tropic regions to melt the Arctic and Antarctic with fatal, violent consequences as I see it. If the glacier of Greenland will burst, the glacier of the Antarctic will burst also although probably not all of it.

The potential energy of the glacier of Greenland is about 900,000 times the energy that the Indian Ocean tsunami discharged into the ocean according to some scientists after the disaster. Think about it! Such an energy will mean a global series of never experienced earthquakes and sky-high tsunamis rolling back and forth on the oceans and seas. At least the rim glaciers of the Antarctic will discharge also. The poor Earth will get a double whammy. Only God the Creator can help His creatures. The elite will drown in their deep underground cities. They cannot withstand the far over 10 reaching earthquakes.

Take it or leave it, it is your choice, but if you want to find out more about an apocalyptic ice-danger, you can find my book on the net in several places.
