When they came thither they were taken one by one, and each deprived of the right hand and the testicles beneath. All this was done within the twelve nights; and that was all with great justice, because they had fordone all the land with their great quantity of false money which they all bought.”

King Henry was the father of Richard 1st and John 1st, he was as French a a Norman could be and take the Anglo Saxon chronicles as a propoganda tool rather than fact. John 1st apparently had same moneylenders left around in 1199 with all appendeges to deprive them of their lives so the practice seems to have grown.
