As you know, some things happen in life that are beyond someone’s control. Some things which are good, some things… not so good. All too often I hear people say, this is not the life I signed up for! So, why is this happening? Is it my fault? 

Let me answer that by saying this, sometimes there are some things in life that happen that are beyond a person’s control but when it comes to your destiny, your calling or your purpose in life then you have to decide for yourself, is it really your fault you’re not living your dreams or your calling, purpose or destiny?

Well… lets look at the facts. Let’s start here… what are you speaking over your life? Are you speaking negative things or positive things? What exactly are you doing to achieve your goals and/or dreams? When you hear people say, oh.. here we go… it’s that name it and claim it thing again… Well, first of all, let’s get something straight right up front, most people say that because their life isn’t going the way they want, dream or need it to and so deep down it bothers them when they see other people doing it or going after what they want, need and/or desire. The bottom line is this, “This name it and claim it” thing they come against is actually, ‘FAITH IN ACTION’. They are simply using their faith according to the word of God found in Romans 4:17 and John 14:13. How can I say that? Well, look for yourself…

 Romans 4:17

“(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

John 14:13
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son

James 2:17
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Now… go back and read those verses again and re-read what is underlined.

Just because YOU may not like or agree with what other people are saying or doing, that doesn’t make it false or make them wrong. No… you can’t base everything on money but, let’s be honest here…  you need money to live. Otherwise you end up homeless with no money, food, shelter with the high possibility of dying before your time, due to starvation if you don’t freeze to death first or end up killed because you had no where safe to go and you just happened to be at the wrong place and the wrong time.  It’s takes money to survive in this world because you have to eat, pay bills, buy food, transportation, insurances, gas, clothing, pay rent/mortgages, raise families and support yourself as well and you can’t do that on a wish.  

When you’re homeless, every day is a gamble or like playing Russian roulette, you could be here one minute and gone the next. You never know the difference a day makes. You need money to spread the gospel. How is that? Simple, you need money for the ink, printing and publishing bibles, pamphlets and your church newsletters. You need money for transportation to get from one place to another, and to spread the word of God, especially if you’re traveling from state to state or from one country to another. You can’t travel without money.  Again, you’re faced with hotel expenses, food, transportation, translation services, renting the place to preach at which also means, maintenance fees, power, music…. etc.

You can’t call yourself blessed if you’re sitting in the dark trying to read a bible because you don’t have the money to keep your utilities on or you’re going hungry because you have no money to buy food for you and your family. The hard core truth is you need money to do anything in this world so don’t tell me it’s a name it and claim it type of thing or it’s all about money. It comes down to a matter of necessity, survival and needing supplies to do many of the things what is written in the Word of God.

Even the bible says in Ecclesiastes 10:19  “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.”

Too often times people get upset because they see pastors and televangelists on TV talking about this and people scream… it’s that name it and claim it gospel again. But doesn’t the word of God tell us to do that? I’m not saying they are all right or they’re all wrong, how they use their money is between them and God but the necessities of life calls for such things as money. 

Psalm 144:4
“Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.”  Or put another way, Humans are like a breath of air. Their life span is like a fleeting shadow or a fleeting moment.
 

What does it mean to use your imagination to get what you’re believing for? Simple, if you’ve read my previous article I spoke of having child like faith in Christ.  When you’re believing for something, simply picture it in your mind, use your imagination and see it happening the way you want it to. Believe you’ve received it and thank God for doing it. Even if you’re just starting, Thank God for it in advance. Do what you know to do, to bring it about. 

You can start by keeping your mouth shut as far as speaking negative things over your life and/or your situations and circumstances and start speaking positive things.

 Let’s say your heart’s desire is to be a signed recording artist, you know that you know it’s what your calling and purpose is in life? What are you doing to make that happen? Well, when you’re just starting you ask God to make it happen, see it in your mind happening as your asking by using your imagination and believe it’s really happening, then start living that way. Sing, record at home, there are plenty of free software to use such as Audacity to record with.  Even if you have to use an old tape recorder, your computer or your cell phone, old answering machine, your cell phone.. do whatever you have to do to record. When there’s a will, there’s a way! No Excuses!  Start living as if you’ve made it. Dress For Success!!!! Literally! Live the part, act the part, do the part, LIVE THE PART and speak it over your life and never speak negatively in regards to anything in your life. Continually thank God for it (as if he did it already) and start associating with those who have that same interest as you. LIVE IT!!! Sing on the street corner if you have to just to get used to singing in public, sing for family and friends, sing to the birds, squirrels and chipmunks in the park. Soon… you will be playing outside of your cozy little comfort zone and on the bigger stages of life.

I hear people all the time say, well it didn’t work for me so it can’t possibly happen for you. Don’t allow those who let their dreams go, destroy yours. When you have it in your blood, in your spirit, you live it, breathe it and it’s the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing before you go to bed, then there is no reason why you can’t live your dreams, but it’s NOT going to be handed to you, you have to do YOUR PART to MAKE IT HAPPEN. You can’t just ask God and do nothing on your part and expect it to be handed to you on a silver plater. Faith without works is dead.

Start eliminating the excuses!!! Excuses are nothing more than a lack of motivation, determination or simply laziness. Three essential things needed to live your dreams and fulfill your calling and/or destiny… MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION and dare I say it…. HARD WORK!  

Besides, if you want it bad enough… you don’t use excuses and you remove any and all obstacles and simply use them in your next song.

Most excuses are..

I meant to but…  

I tried that before…

I don’t have the money or the means…

I’m homeless…. (no better time to start singing on the corner with a donation cup)

I don’t know anyone who can help…

I don’t know what I’m doing…

I don’t have enough information….

I never had the chance…

No one will give me the chance… 

(how hard did you actually try and what steps have you actually physically taken?)

But you don’t know what I went through…  

(Personally, I love that one… I refer them to my life and say next????)

I know people who can come up with a 1000 excuses why their life isn’t what they wanted or why things aren’t going better for them but the truth is your destiny is in your hands. God can call you to higher calling in life, but if you’re not willing to take a step in faith, then you will end up in the desert asking the same questions as before like, Why can’t I do this, why isn’t that happening. You know the questions.. the same questions you’ve been asking yourself for years.
