Tell West Virginia regulators the Atlantic Coast Pipeline endangers our water resources!

Tell West Virginia regulators the Atlantic Coast Pipeline endangers our water resources! This 42-inch diameter, 600-mile pipeline would carry fracked gas across West Virginia and Virginia and into North Carolina. The pipeline would cross 1,989 waterbodies and impact 786 acres of wetlands. It would also threaten an untold number of private drinking wells.

The project must receive several water permits from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. WVDEP recently announced the public comment period for their review of the project. If you are a West Virginia resident, this is an important opportunity to voice your concern about the Atlantic Coast Pipeline’s adverse impacts to water systems in your communities.

Request a Public Comment Hearing:
WVDEP has not yet granted a public hearing for WV residents to provide comment about the ACP water permit applicaiton. Send a letter to WVDEP requesting a public hearing as soon as possible.

“Comments and information relating to Section 401 Water Quality Certification for this activity are hereby solicited. Such information on the activity’s impact will be considered if postmarked prior to the expiration date of this notice. The need for a public hearing will be determined based on an evaluation of specific request for such hearing.”
