Interview with Gregory Sams

For more high strange interviews visit The Church of Mabus

1. In your book Sun of gOd you bring forth the scenario that the Sun is a conscious being. Could you explain that?

Sure. I’m not bringing forth any new scenario, just taking the encrusted dust of centuries off what was once the default, intuitive response that we have had, across the world and throughout history to that bringer of the light of life that crosses our skies each day. It was not science, but a jealous and powerful church that made us think otherwise. They did a good job of burning this common understanding out of our culture. But when we look at solar science and the behaviour of other stars, we find that the science makes more sense when allied to the concept of stars being life forms.

It is curious how many people’s automatic response is to think this a crazy idea, considering that the invisible energy of consciousness is widely considered to be the greatest mystery of the human condition. How can we not even consider the idea of this existing in the giant, life-bringing energetic being that is a star? And, of course, there is the simple heart-to-heart argument: Is it not likely that that which brings us the light of life might know life itself?

2. I also agree that the Sun is more than we think it is and alive and intelligent. I have always noticed an interaction between me and the Sun energetically all my life. Do you think the Sun is a manifestation of God aka our Creator in a sense?

If you want to pin me down on this, I will side with Zoroaster and Akhenaten who both saw light itself as the ultimate supreme deity, and our Sun as the local representative – our local agent for the divine light of life. Hence the title of the book is Sun of gOd, not Sun is gOd (the spelling with a capital O is to clearly differentiate from the Biblical character). I conclude my chapter on light by saying: “Perhaps light, the major expression of the electromagnetic force saturating our Universe is itself the Universal Mind, and the Universe we know is but its physical body and organ of re-generation.” Since writing the book I have come more firmly to believe this is the case.

3. Ancient cultures and belief systems hold the Sun in high regard and some just right out call it a god. My question is this, is there a source that all Suns are connected to in our Universe? And what would you call this?

We know that stars are connected to each other by electromagnetic fields stretching throughout galaxies. We also see EM fields spanning the universe, connecting galaxies together. I suggest that the “source” is really the bottom up construct of all those connected galaxies, each one of which is comprised of its connected stars. And light, energized photons, are the agents of the electromagnetic force. Zoroaster and Akhenaten would just be nodding their heads if we were telling them about the quantum understanding of light we have today. And they’d be thinking: “”Yeah, well, tell me something new.”

It’s a bottom up system, like the cells in our body, each one of which has 5-10 million “residents” keeping it all together, or the 100′s of billions of neurons in our brain, or the termites in a termite mound, or the water molecules in a thundercloud. It’s like looking for the one tree that runs the forest, or the mountain that holds the range together. Let’s think bottom-up instead of top-down, which is a very homo sapien device that is rare to non-existent in the natural world.

4. There are the stories of the Green Knight in Arthurian legend and in Superman of course these characters get their powers from the Sun. I think all of us do on some level. I have noticed when I am tired I can go out in the Sun and close my eyes and stand there and white light fills my body and I feel reenergized. Or when I’ve meditated near an open window. What are your thoughts on this?

I agree, and like to point out as often as I can that we feel bright and uplifted when we open the curtains on a nice Sunny day, in a way that cannot be mimicked with bright lighting and heating inside a room. Sunrays are the original good vibration and we seldom stop to question why they make us feel so good. Light is the power behind all life on the planet and we get most of ours through plants and the animals that eat them. But it’s always good to get some light direct from the beneficent source itself. I just love soaking up the Sun’s rays, and sending some of mine back.

5. I believe we all have souls that are made out of the same stuff as stars and the Sun and I have often wondered if when we die if the Sun is a doorway of sorts or another dimension. Like drops from an Ocean returning to the Ocean. The same with the Sun aka the Source and our souls. Any thoughts on this?

You could be right about the doorway to other dimension, but whenever I am asked this type question I imagine that I am a molecule of water in a mountain lake, wondering what life will be like as vapour, or what it was once like as ice. And whilst I am interested in the subject I don’t think that knowing the actual answer would have any bearing upon how I live my life here and now. If spirit continues, then this life will have an effect upon it, and if not, then it’s been a fun ride.

6. What are your thoughts on Chaos in our galaxies and in our world? How does Chaos fit in to the scheme of things?

Chaos theory? That prompted me to open a shop dedicated to the subject, Strange Attractions, in 1991, and later to write my first book “Uncommon Sense – the State is Out of Date’ (It’s kind of timely now and the update will soon go digital).

Chaos theory shows how the world self-organizes to build complex functioning structures using simple rules. Whether we see it in living or non-living systems we see similarity in the activity. It uses all the tools at its disposal, whether a weather system or a galaxy is being formed. Indeed, we often see similar shapes manifesting though many systems, such as the spiral.

If the EM force is, indeed, the equivalent of the ultimate divine conscious force, then we see that at play throughout all the elements of our world. I know it’s an old idea, but one of the routes I took within my recent book, Sun of gOd, explored just how it is that consciousness pervades the very electro-magnetic fabric of the Universe.

We know a lot about the mechanics of the human body and believe ourselves to be conscious. We also know the mechanics of the thundercloud, but dismiss the possibility of consciousness playing any part the process. Why?

7. You quote a lot of people in your book who mention the Sun. Who are some of your favorite peeps in the book that you quote who talk about the Sun?

For pure simplicity I love Galileo Galilei’s quote: “The Sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.”

Then there is the old standard from Jane Taylor in the 19th century, which I may have taken more to heart than most children. “Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are!”

And from American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson: “The Sun shines and warms and lights us and we have no curiosity to know why this is so; but we ask the reason of all evil, of pain and hunger, and mosquitoes and silly people.” Well, I do ask why.

8. Could you tell us some ancient text or scriptures that speak of the Sun in a divine way and from what belief systems they came from? One of my favorites is “O Ye in your shining disc above the Horizon. I know the secrets of the seven cows that give substance to life and the soul.” Or something like that from The Egyptian book of the Dead. I’ve shouted this at the Sun before.. lol

Ancient Scriptures – I will just give you my favorite translation of the Gayatri Mantra, often seen as the Hindu equivalent to the Lord’s Prayer. It embodies a more uplifting message than the Lord’s Prayer which is about food on our plate, sinning, temptation, and top-down control. I actually wrote a chapter for Sun of gOd comparing the two, but left it out in the final cut.

Aum bhoor bhuvah svah
Tat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dheemahi
Dhiyo yo nah prachodayaat

English translation of the words:

Aum a salutation to gOd
Bhoor the eternal
Bhuvah the creator
Svah the independent
Tat eternal
Savitur Sun, as the creative principle of light
Varenyam supreme gOd
Bhargo light that bestows wisdom, bliss and life
Devasya light of gOd
Dheemahi we meditate
Dhiyo intellect
Yo nah lead us
Prachodayaat toward illumination

9. There’s a lot of weird stuff going on with the Sun right now. From Solar flares, to people claiming UFOs are hanging out near it. I even read in one Dolores Cannon book recently that people live on the Sun or in it. I know some of it sounds silly but what are some of your weirdest or grandest thoughts about the Sun and our connection to it?

I’ve seen some of that “weird stuff” and as you can imagine, I get sent links to it by my friends whenever it comes out. Some of them are intriguing, but I must confess to not to spending a lot of time studying them carefully. It may be significant but for me the most important “weird stuff” is the living nature of the source of life, and the weird part is that across the planet most people are completely oblivious to it.

10. What is Gregory Sams up to in the future, book wise? I loved your book Sun of gOd and I am definitely curious to what you are up to next.

I’ve done many different things in my life, with some success, and the motivation has always been to effect positive change in our culture. I am as much a restaurateur, publisher, shopkeeper, wholesaler, and manufacturer, as an author. So when I started selling organic and natural foods in 1967 I didn’t move onto creating the VegeBurger until that process was “on the road” so to speak. And when a market for vegetarian foods was established I moved on again, to spread the word about chaos theory.

Sun of gOd was written to inform people of the true nature of our Sun and other stars. This process is ongoing, with me giving regular talks on the subject and doing whatever I can to bring our life-giving Sun back in from the cold. Those who have read the book get the message – it’s really kind of obvious once you think about it (and overcome seventeen centuries of Church programming).

So to answer your question: whilst there may be a few hot ideas sparking around in my mind, none of them are strong enough to outshine the light of the Sun.

About Gregory Sams

The story of Gregory Sams is the remarkable story of a British counter-cultural change agent and health food pioneer from the 1960′s. In 1967, with his brother Craig, he founded Seed restaurant, the first natural and organic eatery in the UK, whose regulars included John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Marc Bolan and the core of London’s flower-power generation. Ceres Grain Store in the Portobello Road was founded soon thereafter because people wanted to cook this food at home. Then came Harmony Magazine, and Seed, the Journal of Organic Living because people wanted to read about these new ‘natural foods’ followed by Harmony/Whole Earth foods in 1970, distributing the first organic foods in the UK. In 1982, Gregory made history with another first when he created and christened the VegeBurger. The world’s first commercially available vegetarian burger, he was soon selling over 250,000 of them a week and established the market for vegetarian foods. “Vegeburger” entered the language and is now a common item on menus throughout the world.

In the 80′s, the ever-exploratory Gregory became fascinated with the new scientific ideas of ‘chaos theory’. So inspired was he by its implications that he founded Strange Attractions, the world’s first ever shop dedicated to chaos theory. Trading as chaOs worKs, he went on to produce and license fractal images worldwide on everything from posters to jigsaw puzzles to book covers to fashion fabrics. Gregory’s fascination with chaos theory however, was not just for the mesmerizing images but for the important social lessons inherent in the discovery of self-organizing systems throughout the world. This led him to write his first book, Uncommon Sense – the State is Out of Date (1998), It was well received and changed many lives.

Sams’ lifelong passions: health, culture and consciousness culminated in the writing of Sun of gOd. From 2000 – 2007 Gregory worked on this book, in which, as he puts it, “the biggest elephant-in-the-room that you could ever imagine is unveiled.

you people are so stupid, what do you think the Aztecas were trying to tell us for thousands of years, the sun god it’s in the title THE SUN GOD moron

      • Jeffery Pritchett

Your intelligence level shines through. The whole point of the title of this post was to attract people to it for intelligent conversation. Epic fail on your part. Calling people stupid and morons. What a class act. You give Batman a bad name and also how about trying some more fiber in your diet in the meantime to help you out with your constipation.

I have come to understand that our local sun is and has always been
a God. The entity involved has changed hands over the course of
time. And beyond it are the Spiritual Sun and the Galactic Sun.
The Mayans worshipped the Galactic Sun, the Hanab Ku. This
one is the real God of this Universe. The other two are imposters.

A very interesting read Jeffery. I am sorry, in a way, to hear that you turned your back on scripture. I am also delighted. The reason I say this is because I know of no Christian religion that teaches the whole truth and is willing to change their traditional beliefs when offered proof of error. However, it is very easy to prove scripture to be trueand religion to be error.
The sun does have a conscience of some sort, or at least a cognative ability. I don’t know that you have read my blog but I erge you to read it. It is more of a book than a blog. It is found at tkicbs.blogspot.ca
To touch on it, I believe the earth is hollow. There is an outer crust and then an anner crust. All of the lava, gas and oil, etc, is between the 2 crusts bearing down on each other creating the preasure we witness. These 2 crusts together are only about 500 to 700 miles thick. Then there is a huge cavity of air. At the center of the earth there is a star. It is a baby sun and we live on the seed, or egg if you will.
Please don’t stop reading because I say this. Hear me out and read my reasoning on my blog. I am convinced that this is true. At some point this shell we live on will blow up releasing the star that is at the core.
Understand that every living organism on the earth is brought forth from a seed. Why not the sun as well?
This understanding is in complete agreement with scripture, just not the church.
“IF” the earth is hollow and is only a shell then the earth itself is not alive but only what is on the earth and what is in the earth is alive. There is a spirit around the earth that iminates from the star at its core and controls the life on it. This life is litterally food for the star. Every living organism creates an imprint of its being on what we refer to as a ghost. Plants release ozone when they die, etc.
Understanding that the earth would blow up is rather simple if you put your mind to it. There are huge quantities of natural gas, oil and coal encased within the crusts. Man, in his great wisdom has built nuclear power plants at strategic points around the globe in very close proximaty to fault lines. We have also wrapped a web of gas and oil pipelines around the globe.
Scientists have been predicting a great shifting in the earth’s crust for years and their predictions land around the year 2200, give or take.
Imagine the most severe earthquakes releasing massive amounts of natural gas, oil and lava simutaniousy. Understand that the earth is much more fragile than we have been lead to believe. The weight of the atmosphere is basically all that is holding the crusts in position. When the time is right the crust would be blown to pieces releasing the star that is at the core to dance before the sun just as the comet Ison and Hailies comet do today.
Look at the asteroid belt that surrounds the sun in the orbit between Jupiter and Mars. This is the future of the earth as well.
But the bible gives us the plan that God has set in motion to save the planet and destroy the star at the core. We don’t have to worry about the earth. God is in control.
So, is the Sun God? No! Is the sun a god? Yes, in a sense. The sun does have a spirit and a will. I know this by experience. After understanding the whole plan of God to redeam the earth I got it into my head that the sun should be told God’s plan. After all when we lose a child we suffer, so if the sun has a spirit and a will and is a living organism then it to MAY have feelings and it would be better to know in advance rather than suddennly as in a car crash. So I looked out the window at the sun and spoke directly to the sun. I truly believed it would hear me. I told the sun that it is not God’s plan that the star be free but rather that the earth remain intact.
Immediately I was bombarded with thoughts. They were just random thoughts. Worry about my kids, wondering about this or that. Even scripture! My mind began to race. I had never had a problem like this before. I have always had peace. My mind went crazy. For the next 3 months I was lucky to get 2 hours sleep each night. When I woke up my mind went right back into high gear. I finally received prayer and deliverance and am glad to say I am free now and have peace again.
About a year later I was driving a transport truck across the prarries in Saskatewan and was thinking about these things. I again looked out my window at the sun and told it that its child would not be born. Immediately the cab of the transport got super hot. The sweat was just pouring off me. This lasted about 15 minutes. Then it cleared up. Not long after this I was listenning to the news on the radio and a truck matching the discription of the one I was driving was in an accident and the driver was killed on the same stretch of road I was travelling when I spoke to the sun.
Remeber when Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it obeyed him. I believe you can speak to anything and it will obey you if you believe it in your heart.
So my point here is that the sun is alive and is “A” god but it is not the God of the universe. It is the god of this solar system and is subject to the God of the universe unkowingly. The ancients could not see the universe as we see it and so they worshipped the most powerful thing that they saw.
The true almighty God is love and He is light. Jesus came to reveal Him to us and knowone can find Him accept they come through Jesus. Jesus is not a Catholic or a prtestant or JW or Seventh Day Adventist or Mormon or any of the religions Christians have invented. He is God’s only begotten son and the redeamer of all who will believe in him. Many Christian religions actually serve Satan more than Jesus. If you delve into the practices of Catholisism you will find that the leadership llitterally worship and serve Satan knowingly, though most of their congrigations don’t know this. Search “svali – illuminati defector” and you will get a big surprise.
So keep searching Jeffery. If your heart is truely hungery for the truth you will find it.
