Minden Spook

At our previous residence, after Allison (oldest daughter) got into trouble, I would often get tripped up on the stairs. I figured it was because the stairs were not cut to standard dimensions, and I was just not lifting my foot up enough to catch the next step. Then, one day I got tripped up on the landing between the two staircases. I was talking to a medium I knew at the time and she told me it was Allison’s spirit striking back at me for punishing her. The night before this event, Allison got into a lot of trouble and I took her cell phone away. She was quite upset about it, and she will often lash out at her siblings when in trouble since she does not think they get into the same amount of trouble she does.

When she was younger, Allison had two ‘imaginary friends’, Thomas and Dennis. The medium said that these were her guardian angel and spirit guide, and that she was communicating with them. Her ability to do that tapered, and finally ended when she was about 8 years old. Her sister, Sarah, did not display the ability to communicate with spirits, but is extremely empathic, especially towards her brother, John. Thanks, Scott”

KUDOS TO LEAD INVESTIGATOR: DEANNA BAILEY!
A big kudos to Deanna Bailey – Lead Investigator for taking on this assignment. Deanna will be headed for Minden, Nevada, population 3,001 by herself. She will be teaming up with HPI Investigator / Occupant Scott Atkins and HPI Scout Cory Baird. Minden is probably famous for the two movies that were made there. Those movies were Chicken Every Sunday (1949) and Charley Varnick (1973). Minden must have a lot of paranormal activity, because two ghost hunting groups dominate the town of Minden, they are Minden Ghost Posse and Minden Paranormal Investigators. One of the main places in Minden that is notorious for its hauntings is the Minden Flour Mill Company. The Minden Flour Mill Company is on the Register of Historical Places.

HISTORY OF MINDEN FLOUR MILLING COMPANY
The Minden Flour Milling Company is a historic flour mill located at 1609 U.S. Highway 395 in Minden, Nevada. Built in 1906, the mill was the largest of five flour mills built in the Carson Valley and is the only one still in existence. The building has a transitional design in two respects, as it reflects the change from early European-influenced mills to 20th-century American mills as well as the move from smaller rural mills to large mills built along railroads. The mill features a masonry bearing-wall style of construction, a concrete foundation considered novel at the time, and well-crafted masonry and woodwork. The operators of the mill had a significant influence on Minden commerce, as they were instrumental in both the extension of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad to the town and the expansion of electric power to the area. By the 1920s, the mill had become “one of the biggest milling concerns in the state”; it could process 100 barrels of flour a day and also produced chicken and cattle feed. The mill operated until the 1960s.

ACTIVITY: MINDEN FLOUR MILLING COMPANY
According to Lester Mason, former resident of Minden, things get moved around a lot in this old mill. The resident ghost is Flour Boy Floyd. Flour Boy Floyd has been seen a lot on the 2nd landing of this building and it is believed that Flour Boy Floyd was actually Floyd Lancaster a former employee of the mill. In 1958, Floyd was stacking up flour sacks and his shoe string got caught between two sacks, tripping him, causing him to fall to his death, breaking his neck in several places. Sightings of a man with flour all over his hair and face has been seen. This ghost is very wide eyed and is seen wearing blue jean coveralls. Previous employees, visitors have seen rapid moving orbs, footsteps have been heard and a claw hammer was once seen floating in mid-air, hover in one spot and then fall to the ground.

Hello, I’m Amanda White. I’m 13 years of age and go to school in Grand Forks, Minnesota. I’m doing a report on recent Wisconsin werewolf siting’s and found a link for your article on their siting.
If you don’t mind answering a few questions, please do so:

Do you think there are werewolf or werewolf like creatures alive?

Answer: Amanda, it’s their story. When I talked with them, they seemed sincere and credible. There stories were consistent and they did not contradict anything in their stories. They do believe they saw something.

Did you email them or talk to them face to face?

Answer: They called the paranormal hotline.

If you talked to them face to face, did you explore/investigate the area of the siting for any clues that the creatures have been back there, are still around, have been around that area, are even real, or if they mistook them or it for a different animal?

Answer: I did not investigate the woods of Wisconsin.

Did they seem frightened by the encounter when you spoke with them?

Answer: They were very excited about the incident. I could feel their excitement.

How did you know what they were saying was real?

Answer: I don’t Amanda.
