Rio Del Mars: New Revelations In The Cosmic Watergate

Over the weekend, I was made aware that a major announcement was going to be made by NASA about the planet Mars. I had notified my producer, Ron that it would be an early day for me because I wanted to watch the press conference. In the back of my mind, I was hopeful a possible disclosure would happen and that any kind of life would be found on Mars.

I also thought of the timing of this space baiting. The Pope had left the United States and with the stance recently given by Vatican astronomers about alien life, I surmised that perhaps that secretly the Pope met with heads of state to announce the news of alien life and that NASA would make it official. I was thinking that an alien life announcement would distract from the Pope’s visit.

Well, I was only half right.

NASA’s big announcement is that they now have concluded that there is water on the planet, which may lead to the discovery of life on Mars.

It is quite interesting that this announcement is being made just a week before the release of Ridley Scott’s new science fiction film called, The Martian, starring Matt Damon.

According to NASA, liquid water runs down canyons and crater walls over the summer months on Mars, according to researchers who say the discovery raises the chances of being home to some form of life.

The trickles leave long, dark stains on the Martian terrain that can reach hundreds of meters downhill in the warmer months, before they dry up in the autumn as surface temperatures drop.

Images taken from the Mars orbit show cliffs, and the steep walls of valleys and craters, streaked with summertime flows that in the most active spots combine to form intricate fan-like patterns.

Scientists are unsure where the water comes from, but it may rise up from underground ice or salty aquifers, or condense out of the thin Martian atmosphere.

“There is liquid water today on the surface of Mars,” Michael Meyer, the lead scientist on NASA’s Mars Exploration Program, told the Guardian. “Because of this, we suspect that it is at least possible to have a habitable environment today.”

The water flows could point NASA and other space agencies towards the most promising sites to find life on Mars, and to landing spots for future human missions where water can be collected from a natural supply.

“Mars is not the dry, arid planet that we thought of in the past,” said NASA’s Jim Green. “Liquid water has been found on Mars.”

NASA is developing the capabilities needed to send humans to an asteroid by 2025 and Mars in the 2030s – The goals have already been outlined in the bipartisan NASA Authorization Act of 2010 and in the U.S. National Space Policy, also issued in 2010.

This announcement of water on Mars – while to the average American may sound phenomenal – to those who have already made the discovery or have speculated about it – I think NASA should offer them an apology of some kind or at least approach the discovery with respect to the history of the discovery and those that have lost their lives in the quest for discovery of what the Red Planet has to offer us in exploring the prospect of life on our cosmic neighbor.

It was in 1877 that an Italian Astronomer by the name of Giovanni Schiapaelli discovered with the aid of a telescope that the planet Mars had fine straight lines that intersected each other on its surface.

He described them as “canali,” an Italian word that means “channels.” In Italian, the word can mean a natural channel like a river valley.

Schiaparelli’s produced drawings that showed winding lines that looked like natural water ways.

Unfortunately, English speakers interpreted “canali” as “canals,” which are artificial. It was then that Percival Lowell built the Lowell Observatory to observe Mars. He theorized that the lines were canals built by an intelligent Martian race. These thoughts captured the imagination of many people, but the 1950’s science dismissed the findings.

Lowell presented his first drawings in an 1895 book titled “Mars.” He argued his full theory in a 1908 book, “Mars as the Abode of Life.” Many newspaper editors of the time defended him, even though other astronomers withheld judgment.

Eventually, Lowell’s claims of intelligent life on Mars were dismissed as outlandishly speculative. But his conclusions were secretly held close to the vest as a number of investigations were executed that explored the most earthlike planet considered the best bet for extraterrestrial life in our solar system.

Impressed by such scientific speculation, H.G. Wells pioneered the fictional tradition of Martian life, by creating war like Martians invading the earth in his 1898 book, The War of the Worlds.

Today, that story has been told and retold, but I can’t help but think of the terror it must have created when read in the 1800’s. Martian machines with death rays would vaporize villagers that would still be traveling in a horse and carriage.

However, in 1924, many people on planet earth were fascinated by the planet Mars. They listened for radio signals from Mars — at the request of the U.S. government.

And in 1938 Orson Welles’ frightened thousands of listeners into believing Martians had invaded when he retold the H.G. Wells story in a radio play.

When it was performed for the CBS radio audience, the thought of alien invasion panicked America. While many sociologists try to explain why the broadcast was so effective in scaring people, there never seems to be any explanation as to what the psychological climate of the country was at the time of the broadcast.

It is believed that the Planet Mars was taking on an occult significance and it was the rumor that secretly we were being watched by alien beings and that they were plotting their move.

The only beings that were plotting a world invasion at the time were the “blood and soil” revivalists of the Third Reich.

By 1943 it was rumored that the Germans and the Japanese were secretly plotting a mission to Mars called, Raumflug. While the plan was to land humans on Mars, there was also an amount of risk and so Ramflug was considered a Japanese-German suicide space mission with a planned launch in the spring of 1945, using the Haunebu III space saucer modified with long range capacity.

The Mars mission was difficult since the Japanese were suspicious and quite superstitious with the propulsion systems that the Germans used for their secret space program.

Both Nakajima and Mitsubishi are suspected of having tried to construct purely Japanese discs during the war, exemplified by the 1942 “Battle for L.A.” disc that was fired upon to no effect. Recent analysis of the photos reveals a disc design different than that of the Germans, same for the 1942 sighting of a strange disc over Hopeh Province in China.

In 1953 a Hungarian animator and film producer named George Pal brought the Martian invasion to the big screen with his version of “The War of the Worlds” which differed greatly from the original Wells story.

From the 1950’s to the 1960’s science fiction movies and stories in Pulp magazines kept the idea of life on Mars alive.

However in the real world of the 1950’s with the knowledge of the Nazi space programs, The United States brought over from Germany Nazi scientists. Science was tired of waiting for the little green men and decided it was time to go to Mars.

A bold venture that at the time was easier said than done.

Das Marsprojekt was the first technically comprehensive design for a manned expedition to Mars provided by ex-Nazi space genius Wernher Von Braun. Wernher von Braun made the first engineering analysis of a manned mission to Mars in 1948.

In the 1950s, Wernher von Braun and Willy Ley, writing in Colliers Magazine, said that he was devising a way to stage spacecraft headed for Mars. They envisioned a rotating wheel with a diameter of 250 feet. The 3-deck wheel would revolve at 3 RPM to provide artificial one-third gravity. It was envisaged as having a crew of 80.

In fact, there are wild speculations that the United States succeeded in sending a crew to Mars. The reason this was so is because scientists validated his findings and his ideas were released to the public in a book called ‘Across the Space Frontier’, in 1953.

The technical appendix was published in German as Das Marsprojekt in 1953 and in English in America in 1962 as, The Mars Project.

Refined designs were presented in 1956 in ‘The Exploration of Mars’ and reached an audience of 42 million Americans in a series of programs televised on the Walt Disney show. Von Braun’s concepts were known to a wider audience than any other of the period. No other series of articles, books, and programs did more to popularize the idea of manned space travel before Sputnik.

It was also proposed that the Mars Project be secretly added to the Mercury program.

The Soviet Union was already secretly sending probes to Mars, however they failed five times in succession. There were also rumors that Russia had sent up into space, cosmonauts that were willing to die in order to further the space program. Some were sent into space never to be heard from again, while others including a woman were sent into space and their screams and cries for help were allegedly intercepted and recorded in Italy.

There is a legendary story of a cosmonaut that passed through the Van Allen Belt. Cosmonaut Valentin Bondarenko according to sources left this earth with white skin and returned with black skin. He was very much alive but with extensive radiation burns all over his body.

The only place where there was skin was at the soles of his feet where they injected him with pain relievers. While the entire case was kept secret until 1990 there are many indications that the ship also burned him on re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere. No one could even fathom the horrible torture that must have been inside a small capsule hundreds of miles from earth.

He died on the same day in 1961.

By April of 1965, a macabre article appeared in Readers Digest. The article had mentioned that mankind had a long way to go before landing on the moon or the planet Mars. It explained that there is compelling evidence indicating that the Soviet Union was sending cosmonauts to their deaths in their quest to conquer space and bring a man successfully back to Earth.

The article literally confirmed for most people the “cold war” rumor that somewhere out in space is the frozen body of a cosmonaut that failed in his mission to land on the moon.

Today, it is a creepy thought that perhaps billions of miles from the sun a capsule frozen in time is drifting across the boundary of our solar system and entering into interstellar space. The astronaut inside is perfectly preserved at -474 degrees Fahrenheit. The capsule is hurling through space at 18,000 miles per hour and has been doing so for nearly 50 years, all because of an obsession to explore space for any proof of life.

America’s Mariner Project was the public’s first known probe that was launched into the Martian orbit in 1965. It sent back pictures of the Red Planet.
All of the romantic and lurid hopes of life on Mars were dashed as the first images transmitted were of a desolate and dead planet.

No canals no flowing water, no vegetation and no Martians.

However there were anomalous objects that some thought were pyramids and even the possibility that near the area of Cydonia there was a Sphinx-like face. However, a spokesman for NASA was quick to dismiss the face as, Pareidolia.

Once again, the prospect of potential intelligent life either living presently or in the past on Mars was debunked.

It was August of 1996 where speculations came from NASA and others that perhaps fossilized bacteria was found in a meteorite that somehow fell to Earth and according to scientists was from Mars. This was “evidence” that bacteria may have contributed to the decay of living material that once existed on the planet.

Even when NASA discovered that Methane was being produced on Mars, scientists
around the world concluded that methane could only be produced from life forms
under the planet’s soil. The first discovery of this was in 1976.

Gilbert Levin was the scientist who found that the Viking Missions produced evidence of life On Mars. NASA immediately dismissed it. In 1996, a researcher that was actually supported by NASA said he had found fossil bacteria in a meteorite that had been blasted off the surface of Mars. The report, which was published in the journal, Science, was featured on the cover of Time Magazine and was trumpeted by the White House.

Eventually, most scientists were saying “Nothing to see here” claiming that formations in
the rock merely looked like alien fossils and weren’t the real deal. Dr. Richard B.
Hoover, an astro-biologist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center claimed that he had
found conclusive evidence of alien life. There were diagrammed pictures distributed
that purported to show fossils of bacteria found in an extremely rare class of meteorite
called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites. The pictures looked like some form of alien pasta
embedded in the rock of the rare meteorites.

Hoover discovered the fossils by breaking apart the CI1 meteorite, and analyzing
the exposed rock with a scanning-electron microscope and a field emission electron-
scanning microscope, which allowed him to detect any fossil remains. What he found
were fossils of micro-organisms, many of which he says are strikingly similar to those
found on our own planet.

The “fossil found in the meteorite story” has often been announced by NASA scientists
only to be shot down by other scientists who want to silence any and all talk about life
out in space.

After Hoover’s report in the Journal of Cosmology, NASA didn’t surprise
anyone by issuing a statement saying that it will distance itself from Hoover and his
work.

Paul Hertz, chief scientist of NASA’s science mission directorate, issued a
statement saying, among other things, that “NASA cannot stand behind or support
a scientific claim unless it has been peer-reviewed or thoroughly examined by other
qualified experts. According to Hertz, NASA was unaware of the recent claims and
the submission of the paper to the Journal of Cosmology or of the paper’s subsequent
publication.”

In 1989, Russia sent two probes to Mars to investigate the Martian moon, Phobos.

The first probe was lost on its way to explore the Martian moon. NASA had said that the probe was destroyed by a Meteorite. However, the other probe recorded something far more frightening. Something that was large enough to cast a shadow on the Martian surface.

Photos of a very long cigar shaped object were last transmissions of the probe before it was obliterated. One of the photos showed an elliptical shaped shadow was cast on the Martian surface. The other photos transmitted what appeared to be a ball of energy beyond the probe. There were of course other shots taken by the probe reportedly showing some “sensitive information.” Was the probe attacked by some extra-terrestrial force or was it secret space weaponry that was used to destroy the probes?

Nearly a decade ago, NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor took pictures of what appeared to be water bursting through a gully wall and flowing around boulders and other rocky debris. In 2011, the high-resolution camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured what looked like little streams flowing down crater walls from late Spring to early Autumn.

Mission scientists told the public that the flows were “recurring slope lineae” or RSL.

Now that NASA has given its blessing to the rich history of “water” and possible “life” speculation, we can only wait for NASA to tell us not to get our hopes up. The whole life discovery will probably be in the hands of robots and astronauts in 2030.

Researchers are now focused on learning where the water comes from. Porous rocks under the Martian surface might hold frozen water that melts in the summer months and seeps up to the surface.

When the astronauts leave this planet in order to go to Mars it will more than likely unite us under the proposed Agenda 2030? The UN document promises that this plan will “transform our world for the better by 2030.” Nearly every nation on the entire planet is going to be signing up for this new agenda.

Who knows by then we can also establish a United Federation of Planets and the world will finally be made privy to the reality of alien life and that it is plentiful in space.

It will also be a little chilling to know that it has been near us the whole time, which will open up further speculation over what conspiracy theorists have called, the Cosmic Watergate.
