You witnessed a miracle, one that involved me, as well, in a similar way. In 1992, I was depressed and dreaded facing another cold wet wintry season. in Vancouver, Canada. I was on my way to a RCC after work and I prayed to God to let me die with a clear slate on this very evening. I went to confession, received Holy Communion and at that moment at the alter, I decided to rush to my gym for the next aerobics class. I headed straight out for the door when in my mind I saw a very large figure hovering above the ceiling, covering nearly half of the overhead space. A mocking voice jeered at me “But you haven’t even done your penance!” That really struck me as I hit the outdoor step, but I still rushed to cross the street. As soon as the green light turned, I darted ahead, just when I saw an older model black car was making a left turn. It was a man with black hair and glasses who was totally focused on speaking to his female passenger. Technically I wasn’t supposed to be able to see what I did, as if I were on sitting in the middle of the back seat. Suddenly, I feel weightless, as if floating smugly in the air with bands of blue and green rays around me. I felt so high, so safe, like a child arrogantly flouting his high perch, straddled above his loving father’s shoulders. Suddenly, I found myself meekly advancing right back to the street where I started. I saw a group of people moaning and gasping in awe and disbelief, women clutching their bosoms. I saw an old man yelling at me but I couldn’t hear what he was saying. The shock of the people’s reaction towards me was so great that I nearly fainted, my knees felt so weak I needed to sit down. Afterwards, people in this Church after mass always shouted warnings to watch for cars that just swerve by in a left hand turn without watching for passengers. I learned later that by forgetting to give thanks for the Holy Eucharist, I was also committing a grave sin. I am sure this sort of thing happens all the time but occasionally some people are given the grace to see!
