“Never let a Good Crisis go to Waste”! It would seem Cruz and Palin are both milking this for political gain, but then again.. It is about time we got some of these empty suits on the rigt side of the fight. I cannot help but think this is all for show. That this is some sinister slieght of hand while a bigger conspiracy plays out behind the scenes. Watch the bouncing ball so they can steal their Jacks.

10/13/13 – A crowd converged on the World War II Memorial on the National Mall, pushing through barriers Sunday morning to protest the memorial’s closing under the government shutdown.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A crowd converged on the World War II Memorial on the National Mall, pushing through barriers Sunday morning to protest the memorial’s closing under the government shutdown.
Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas were among those who gathered Sunday morning, along with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, according to WTOP radio. Cruz said President Obama is using veterans as pawns in the shutdown.
“Tear down these walls,” the crowd chanted. Protesters also sang God Bless America and other patriotic songs as they entered the memorial plaza. [ FULL ARTICLE ]

I saw this rally on TV. The thing that really impressed me was the use of large bolt-cutters to cut the zip-ties holding barriers together. I guess that made for more compelling drama…
I looked and looked and didn’t see that neither the truckers nor the vets really shut anything down, although I don’t think that was the vets’ goal. Closing the monuments was pretty much a brain fart, although I don’t see how conservatives can complain about the monuments being shiut down when they shut down the government with absurd position of ACA. How is it that a minority can tell the majority what to do?
Of course it’s for show. They engineered a shutdown with an ultimatum and turned around and used their own shutdown as a publicity stunt. Might as well, it’s not like they’re doing their actual jobs. If I took a three hour lunch break to break through a police barricade and enter a facility closed to the public, I’d be arrested and fired! But they don’t live by the rules of the little people. Like, not getting paid when they don’t do their jobs, and stuff.
If I worked for Taco Bell and I decided to board up the front door, I sure as hell wouldn’t get paid for it (I’d also probably be fired). But fat cats like Palin and Neuenbarger and Cruz and the other rich corporate backed TPers and Rs don’t need to follow laws or worry about being paid.
Basically the Congress can come into DC and sit in their offices and maybe show up for a single vote in the course of a year and they still get paid 170K! Sounds like a great gig to me. Too bad we trust those self-interested clowns to run our country.
You know, some of you will just vote for the same old clowns because you think you know who the clowns are… it’s unfortunate really. You could open your eyes but that would require giving up your prejudices, fears, and the lies you’ve bought.
