The Tea Party’s attempt to challenge establishment Republicans has hit a snag in Utah. Long-time seven term Senator Orrin Hatch and other Republicans indicate they will mount a challenge to first term Senator Mike Lee (R-UT).
Tuesday, 79-year old Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), now serving his seventh term in the Senate, signaled that he and other members of the Republican establishment are likely to encourage a primary challenge to first term Senator Mike Lee (R-UT).
Lee upset former Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT) in the 2010 Utah Republican primary convention in the Tea Party’s first major primary win over a Republican establishment politician. MOREHERE
Establishment Republicans want to “rehabilitate” Tea Party candidates or drive them out of Congress.
Glen Beck says Orrin Hatch and people like him have done a lot of damage to Tea Party candidates. According to Beck, Sen. Hatch and others are trying to destroy the Tea Party and the Constitutioh.
