The Greenville Citizens Roads Advisory Commission would have you believe that the majority of residents want their taxes increased.

Greenville County Council is selling this 1% sales tax hike under the guise of road improvement. But the truth is we already pay for state roads through the gas tax and county roads through the $15 vehicle registration fee. See fact sheet here.

According to Councilman Willis Meadows, “The increased sales tax for a family of two will cost them $300 a year.”

This tax will remove $70 million a year out of the local economy. It will hurt working families already struggling to pay the bills.

Many Americans are forced to find part-time jobs just to make ends meet.
