Breaking - Commuter Train Fails to Stop in NJ, Over 100 Injured, 1 Death
A commuter train has failed to stop as expected and crashed at the Hoboken station in New Jersey. This station is a termination point for many train lines as well as a major transfer point for travelers.
This crash occurred at 8:45am Eastern time, and has resulted in all PATH service at the Hoboken station to be suspended and all passengers are advised to use NJ Transit Light Rail for travel.
The commuter train left the track moving at a high rate of speed, striking a barrier before going airborne and crashing through the Hoboken terminal, resulting in a mass casualty event. Official updates confirmed the reports of 108 injured and 1 death, an individual waiting on the platform.
“At least one of the NJ Transit cars appeared to be partially inside the building, with some of the metal pillars holding up the roof caved in around it.”
