Donors Pour Cash Into Jill Stein’s Website to Pay For a Recount in Three States

So I just took my brown sugar-glazed ham out of the oven and put the broccoli casserole in.

While that’s going on, I decided to pop back in and see what the turkeys of the world were doing.

We’ll start with Green Party candidate, Jill Stein. She seems pretty active for a holiday.

Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein has raised enough money for a recount in Wisconsin, her campaign said early Thursday.

Donations totaled at least $2.7 million in less than one day, according to a fundraising page on her web site.

“Congratulations on meeting the recount costs for Wisconsin. Raising money to pay for the first round so quickly is a miraculous feat and a tribute to the power of grassroots organizing,” her campaign said.

“Now that we have nearly completed funding Wisconsin’s recount (which is due on Friday), we can begin to tackle the funding for Michigan’s recount (due Monday) and Pennsylvania’s recount (due Wednesday).”

With the news of electors hoping to withhold their vote from Donald Trump, and others asking Hillary Clinton to ask for a recount in those three states, it’s no surprise when these things pop up.

The surprise is that it’s Jill Stein raising the funds and pushing the issue.

She didn’t exactly make a splash on Election Day.

Election results from The Associated Press showed that Stein received 1.1 percent of the vote in Michigan and Wisconsin and 0.8 percent of the vote in Pennsylvania.

Is she doing it for Clinton?

If she’s said, I’ve missed it.

Even with utter fraud, I can’t see Stein making up the spread from 1.1% to overtake either Clinton or Trump.

Maybe she just really wants to be sure that the election was free and clear.

Election lawyers and a few researchers have claimed to have evidence that machines used in voting had been tampered with in those states.

Stein said Wednesday that many Americans are wondering if the election results were reliable after a “divisive and painful” race and reported hacks into voter and party databases and individual email accounts.

“These concerns need to be investigated before the 2016 presidential election is certified,” she said in a statement released by her campaign.

I’m from North Carolina. I get the desire to want a recount, so you’re not going to hear any stronger protestation from me over this.

Best of luck, Dr. Stein.

This is just par for a very strange course, this year.
