No, Defunding Planned Parenthood Won’t Cause Women To Die

(Before It's News)

Liberals are so predictable.

The moment you touch their sacred Planned Parenthood, the screeching pro-abort hordes flail around and spread misinformation. It’s always quite a display.

The Left wants you to think that defunding Planned Parenthood will actually kill women. The message is that women’s lives will literally end because the abortion giant will not receive $500 million from the government.

It’s all doom, gloom, and then more doom.

Here on this side, we promote pro-life, pro-woman, and pro-baby. You can be all three. In fact, you can’t really, truly be one unless you also subscribe to the others.

To counteract the pro-abort madness, here are some facts you should know as we (hopefully) head toward a reality where Planned Parenthood is defunded.

Going To Planned Parenthood Is The Exception, Not The Norm

Comprehensive women’s healthcare clinics outnumber Planned Parenthood 20 to 1. It’s not even close. The only dominance PP has in any industry is the abortion one, and that’s not healthcare. As far as actual care is concerned, not many choose to go to a PP clinic.

In fact, most women currently do not depend on Planned Parenthood. Based on the group’s own annual reports, 98 percent of women in the U.S. will never visit a Planned Parenthood facility in a given year.

Ninety-eight percent. That’s not just a little majority, it’s an overwhelming one. This 98% includes women of all ethnicities and economic levels. They actively choose to go to elsewhere. In fact, PP is actually losing clients.

Planned Parenthood has lost over 400,000 clients since undercover investigations into the abortion giant began to intensify in 2006, based on numbers from their own annual reports.

The number of clients to Planned Parenthood dropped from 3.1 million in 2006, when Live Action began to investigate the abortion giant, to 2.7 million in 2013.

Oh, that’s awkward. Looks like they have a problem, and it has nothing to do with federal funding.

They Offer Basic Cancer Screenings, But Do NOT Do Mammograms

I encounter people who still assume (or just like to falsely promote) that Planned Parenthood does mammograms. It’s somewhat easy to see why that belief still exists. After all, both the president of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, as well as President Barack Obama have previously stated that PP clinics do mammograms. This is simply untrue.

In Richards’ September 2015 testimony before the House Oversight & Government Reform committee, the issue was discussed again.

There aren’t any Planned Parenthood clinics, I believe, to the best of my knowledge, not any have mammogram machines at their facilities…”

“We have different kinds of arrangements with, depending on the state, to refer women for mammograms.”

Later on in the hearing, during questioning from Utah Republican Rep. Mia Love about the extent of health services provided, Richards again stated that they provide breast exams instead.

“We do not have mammogram machines at our health centers and we’ve never stated that we did,” said Richards at the hearing.

It’s quite clear that Cecile Richards was/is comfortable being unclear. Present yourself as a life-saving necessity to the public, and they’ll forget that you gleefully provide life-ending services on a daily basis.

Yes, Planned Parenthood provides breast exams and Pap smears, but these things are available at the numerous women’s health clinics which don’t also vacuum babies out of wombs in the next room.

Planned Parenthood Does Not Need Our Money

It is quite obvious that PP does just fine on their own. In fact, they’re so flush with cash that they spent nearly $30 million during the 2016 election cycle in an effort to get Hillary, and other pro-abort candidates, elected. That didn’t work out too well. Remember, this is the organization which states they desperately need our money.

Post-election, PP has received an enormous amount of donations. Further proof that they do just fine on their own. They received more than 50,000 donations, made by bitter woman, in Mike Pence’s name alone. Overall, donations to PP are at 40 times their regular rate.

The “services” PP provides are not cheap. According to their 2014-2015 annual report, there were 323,999 abortions performed in their clinics compared to only 2,024 adoption referrals. On their own website, they list the price of in-clinic abortions as costing up to $1,500 in the first trimester. You do the math.

Planned Parenthood and its minions preach that “women will die!” if the federal government strips them of the $500 million coming from taxpayers. This is demonstrably false. PP is ignored by the vast majority of women when they seek actual healthcare in the first place. Sadly, PP ends the lives of more than 320,000+ unborn per year while simultaneously making loads of cash.

Planned Parenthood wants our money, but we’re saying no. Why? Because at the end of the day, their purse stays full while too many wombs do not.
