Sarah Palin’s Sad Lunge for the National Spotlight Spelled Out in Two Tweets

I honestly and truly used to consider her a breath of fresh air.

Now, she’s like that bad smell coming from the backseat of the car, that you just can’t seem to find the source of, and you’re not entirely sure you want to know.

Sarah Palin was thought to be a rising star, at one point in her career, but that star came crashing down hard, after the McCain/Palin ticket failed in their 2008 bid to take the White House.

With no government position, no Tea Party rallies, no Fox News spot, and no reality TV to lean on, she’s struggled for relevancy, so much so, that now she’s ready to abandon any principles she ever had (if they truly were her principles).

It’s sad and embarrassing.

This week, Fox News’ Sean Hannity – Trumpidian bootlick extraordinaire – has been interviewing Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, in regards to the source of the leaks of Democrat emails.

The U.S. intelligence community has pointed the finger at Russian hackers, suggesting that Russia may have had a vested interest in seeing Hillary Clinton fail.

Donald Trump has scoffed at the idea, and went as far as to say he knew more about hacking than most, and that he had information others didn’t have.

Don’t expect to know what that is.

Is Assange now a hero?

Hannity called him a criminal and wanted to know why he hadn’t been locked up, back in 2010.

On Tuesday night, however, Palin tweeted out this:

Yes. An apology to Assange.

That was quickly followed up by this blast from the past, by a Twitter user and Reuters journalist by the name of Dustin Volz:

In 2010, both Hannity and Palin railed against Julian Assange and WikiLeaks for the release of top secret documents, which revealed U.S. troop movements in Afghanistan, as well as the names and locations of informants and insurgent commanders.

This information was so sensitive, that top U.S. military officers said Assange likely had blood on his hands, because the release of this information put American and Afghani lives in danger.

Today, however, that same “anti-American operative” has emerged as a hero and truth-teller.

What changed?

Well, Palin and Hannity boarded the Trump train, and what Boss Trump says is good, is good, even if it has endangered the lives of Americans.

Palin’s Facebook apology is even more ridiculous. She goes on to say she’s apologizing for being upset that Assange revealed her “boring” emails back in 2010, and very quickly brushes over the fact that he put American lives in danger in Afghanistan.

To Julian Assange: I apologize.

Exposing the truth re: the Left having been oh-so-guilty of atrocious actions and attitudes of which they’ve falsely accused others. The media collusion that hid what many on the Left have been supporting is shocking. This important information that finally opened people’s eyes to democrat candidates and operatives would not have been exposed were it not for Julian Assange.

I apologize for condemning Assange when he published my infamous (and proven noncontroversial, relatively boring) emails years ago.

As I said at the time of being targeted and my subsequent condemnation, though, the line must be drawn before our troops or innocent lives deserving protection would be put at risk as a result of published emails.

Julian, I apologize.

ps – If you get the chance, catch the movie “Snowden.” That movie and Hannity’s interview tonight are quite enlightening.

I’m disgusted by this person. Seriously.

There’s a time to just call it a career and restrict your activities to local civic duties. That time for Palin has come, because every time she tries to force her way back into the national spotlight, it leaves this sad, sick feeling for those who once thought her to be somebody worth watching.
