Earlier in the week President-elect Trump promised to reveal new information about alleged Russian hacking. He boasted about his superior knowledge about hacking and claimed to know things other people don’t, then promised to reveal those things on “Tuesday or Wednesday.”
“I think it’s unfair if they don’t know. And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be somebody else.”
“I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation,” Trump responded when asked why he doubts intelligence reports of Russian hacking, according to a pool reporter.
When asked what Trump knows that other people don’t know, Trump responded, “You’ll find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
Well, today is Thursday.
Maybe Trump was referring to his hype-man Sean Hannity’s interview with skeevy Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange? That can’t be it. The only thing revealed there is another data point showing the depths to which Hannity will sink for knee jerk partisanism.
This is eerily reminiscent of when he promised to deliver evidence proving that all the allegations from various women about his sexual misconduct were totally false. That never materialized either. The promise allowed him to kick the can down the road until something else grabbed the media’s attention though. Is that the real intent of Trump’s promises of future revelation?
Is vowing to answer a question at a future date just Trump’s way of getting out of uncomfortable conversations? I’m trying to keep an open mind but Trump keeps trying to convince me that he’s a tremendous bullsh*t artist. Believe me.
