Trump Wants America To Stop Picking On Hillary Clinton

Sitting down with ABC’s David Muir, the question was presented to President Trump regarding his election rival, Hillary Clinton, and if there would be any more talk of probes into her emails, or other assorted scandals.
“I just don’t know, I mean I hope so. From my stand point we want to move on to the future, so I hope so. I don’t know what the status of that is, I know it is a lot of very serious stuff, but I certainly hope so,” Trump said in the Oval Office.
Throughout the campaign, Trump and his supporters pushed to keep Clinton’s emails as a focus.
At rally after rally, Trump encouraged the chants of “Lock her up!” from his supporters, and even suggested that he would appoint a special prosecutor to see that the charges against her were properly investigated.
He played to what his base wanted, and they ate it up.
Immediately after his win, however, his attitude towards her took a definitive softening.
Clinton and former President Bill Clinton attended Trump’s inauguration, and he asked her to stand up at his inaugural luncheon, prompting a standing ovation.
And that’s all very nice.
No more talk of special prosecutors.
No more talk of locking her up.
She may very well deserve locking up, but it won’t be because Trump had anything to do with it, if it ever happens.
That’s just one broken campaign promise some of his more rabid followers will have to swallow.
