1000s attend funeral of man killed by police
Abdollah al-Ajooz was killed on Monday after Bahraini forces stormed the al-Nuwaidrat area south of the capital Manama. They shot the 21-year old al-Ajooz and then arrested him. He later succumbed to his injuries. Since 20-11, the Saudi-backed Al Khalifah regime has been pushing ahead with a brutal crackdown on Bahrainis who are calling for democracy and freedom.
Bahraini regime forces attack protesters on Sitra Island
Bahraini forces have violently clashed with anti-regime protesters on the island of Sitra.
People took to the streets after the news of the killing of a young man at the hands of the regime forces broke out. Protests were also held in Bilad al-Qadeem, west of the capital Manama. The man succumbed to injuries after he was shot before being arrested. The Al Khalifah regime has stepped up crackdown on dissent ahead of the trial of prominent Shia cleric, Sheikh Isa Qassim. The cleric has been under house arrest on politically-motivated charges. The Saudi-backed regime forces have killed dozens of protesters and put behind bars activists since the start of the popular uprising in 20-11. International rights groups have time and again warned the Al Khalifah regime against the brutal suppression of pro-reform protests.
