Cecile Richards Hits the Panic Button

(Before It's News)

BuzzFeed has an interview with Josef Mengele Cecile Richards and it is one of the most hopeful interviews I’ve read in a while. When you cut through it all the fact is that Richards and Planned Parenthood are running scared, the reek of flopsweat is in the air and their claim to not be reliant upon the US Government for support is revealed to be a lie. But the interesting things in the interview are the lies Richards tells and the way BuzzFeed’s Ema (yep, one ‘m’ because patriarchy or something) O’Connor packages those lies uncritically and even amplifies upon them.

The two Planned Parenthood clinics in Ryan’s district don’t even provide abortions. Women go to these clinics for services like STI tests, contraceptives, and cancer screenings.

Highlighting areas like these is part of a post-election shift back to the center for Planned Parenthood. Within months of the presidential election, the women’s health provider overhauled its strategy from campaigning for federal coverage of abortions to running ads in which a patient tells a story of a Planned Parenthood nurse telling her not to have an abortion.

Richards told BuzzFeed News this is not a shift in messaging, but “an education campaign” to “fill in a picture for people…

There is literally, actually no place in the nation where a woman has to go to Planned Parenthood for anything other than an abortion. Poor women are covered by Medicaid and have access to primary care physicians and walk-in community health clinics that provide these services. The only reason Planned Parenthood provides these services is to pad out its reports with “services provided” in order to minimize the importance of abortion to their business model. While 97% of Planned Parenthood’s services are non-abortion, 86% of its revenue is derived from abortion.

In part of Ryan’s district, Racine County, there are no federally qualified health centers besides Planned Parenthood. A number of physicians and clinic directors at non-Planned Parenthood federally qualified health centers in the rest of his district said the four health centers would not be able to successfully absorb Planned Parenthood’s roughly 6,000 patients at their two clinics in Ryan’s district. Organizations like Wisconsin National Right to Life Commission insist nonprofit pregnancy-care organizations can pick up the slack post-defunding, though many of these do not provide STD testing or contraception.

When asked about the lack of centers to replace Planned Parenthood in his district, Ryan’s office told BuzzFeed News, “Our goal is making sure women get the kind of care they need and we believe that can best be achieved by putting money into community health centers, which provide similar services as Planned Parenthood but vastly outnumber them.”

Notice what the writer did. She slid in “federally qualified” like that was a meaningful designation. In fact. Racine County, Wisconsin, has several community health centers in operation as a quick check of the website of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services would show and at least one of those is “federally qualified.”

And Planned Parenthood is definitely afraid of what the future holds unless GOP pro-aborts break ranks and vote for the baby killing machine that is Planned Parenthood.

Richards said Planned Parenthood is preparing for the worst-case scenario. “We’ve got a lot of work we’re doing on contingency,” she said, adding, “but there’s no way to overstate what a health care crisis this would be for women if they were blocked from going to Planned Parenthood.”

Again there are two huge lies here. There is currently no law proposed that blocks any woman from going to Planned Parenthood. What the bills do is say that the government will not pay for abortions. Women are still free to go anyplace their insurance will cover or for which they can pay out of pocket. But because Planned Parenthood doesn’t provide any real health care services it isn’t covered by insurance companies. And, of course, there will be no health care crisis unless we want to call not killing babies a crisis.

This article is mostly drivel but it bears reading if for no other reason than to let you feel the sense of panic that is beginning to set in on the abortion industry.
