Ambassador Haley Warns That Leaked Intelligence In Fox News Story Could Be Dangerous

Wait… leaks and anonymous sources are bad now, or no?

It gets so confusing, when the administration slams leaks, slams anonymous sources, but will gladly use them when it suits their needs.

President Trump tweeted out an article from his campaign headquarters, “Fox and Friends,” earlier Tuesday morning.

The article suggested that U.S. spy agencies had spotted anti-ship cruise missiles being loaded on a patrol boat, along the east coast of North Korea days ago.

The article cited anonymous intelligence community sources, something Trump has attacked. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced last week that there would be a crackdown on leaks, as well.

After Trump tweeted out the story, Ambassador Nikki Haley warned of the dangers of advancing such stories that contain what could be classified information.

Said Haley:

“I can’t talk about anything that’s classified,and if that’s in the newspaper then that’s a shame,” Haley said.

She did not comment on whether the information in the story itself came from a leak, saying that leaks “have got to stop.”

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I will tell you it’s incredibly dangerous when things get out to the press like that,” she said. “You’re not only just getting a scoop on something, but you’re playing with people’s lives.”

“Wherever the leaks are coming from, if someone thinks they’re getting power and fame from it, all you’re doing is putting Americans in danger.”

And most of us have long believed this, but the selective love of leakers has muddied the waters. For instance, when WikiLeaks was revealing the location of American troops in the Middle East, people like Fox’s Sean Hannity wanted Julian Assange hung up by his heels. When WikiLeaks was revealing Democratic National Committee emails, and further promoting Donald Trump, not only did Hannity suddenly love the organization, but he wants to give Assange a platform and guest hosting spot on his program.

Add that to a network that slams anonymous sources from other networks, but employs them themselves, as it suits them, and the hypocrisy is astounding.
