The Bell Is Tolling For Roy Moore As RNC Pulls Support

Here that sound? That’s the hammer dropping on Roy Moore as the Republican National Committee pulls support of the GOP Senate candidate recently plagued with allegations he sexually assaulted and pursued underage girls.

Per Politico:

The RNC is pulling out of a joint fundraising agreement it had with Moore, according to a senior party official briefed on the decision. It is also canceling a field program it had set up ahead of the state’s Dec. 12 special election. The committee had about a dozen paid canvassers in Alabama working for Moore. It will no longer transfer any money to the race.

Internal RNC polling showed Moore was barely ahead just a week ago, prior to the avalanche of credible accusations and exodus of support from Republicans of all stripes.

Republican leadership in both houses of Congress have called for Moore to step aside. The head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Cory Gardner, said on Monday that Moore should be expelled from the Senate if elected by Alabamans.

Moore is sinking in the polls and losing the support of the RNC makes one wonder just how Moore can feel he is doing right by Alabamians by staying in the race.
