Trump’s “Coffee Boy” Was Doing More Than Just Serve Coffee

We’re hearing more about what is considered “low level” in the Trump campaign, as new details about the work of “coffee boy” George Papadopoulos emerges.

According to a new report, Papadopoulos wasn’t simply flitting about, doing things independent from the campaign. In fact, he was in close and constant contact with at least one now-White House aide: Stephen Miller.

Throughout the Spring of 2016, Papadopoulos filtered many of his activities through Miller. He even took part in editing a major foreign policy speech for then-candidate Trump.

In one of the emails to Miller cited by the Times, Papadopolous told the now-key White House aide that Trump had an “open invitation” to visit Russia from Putin.

An investigation last week revealed that despite the Trump aide’s description as a “coffee boy” by other Trump campaign officials, Papadopolous represented the candidate at multiple forums and meetings.

Multiple.

I guess if a coffee boy is allowed to make trips to speak to foreign government officials or to edit the speeches of a presidential candidate, nobody should be surprised that as president, Trump thinks his son-in-law can bring peace to the Middle East.

Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his conversations with a foreign professor and attempts to get dirt from the Russians, regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails.

If convicted, the “coffee boy” is facing a $250,000 fine, up to 5 years in prison, and supervised release, as part of his plea deal with the government.
