Rand Paul says Trump Sending Troops to Saudi Arabia ‘Inconsistent’ With Message of No More Endless Wars

Donald Trump is claiming Saudi Arabia has agreed to pay for the deployment of additional U.S. troops to the region. The addition troops dispatched by the White House will bring the total deployment of U.S. forces to the kingdom to 3,000 since mid-September. The U.S. will also increase the number of Patriot missile systems and provide Riyadh with the THAAD defence system. Washington says it’s all to “counter the threat from Iran”, after last month’s attack on Saudi oil refineries.
