Nolte: Dems Consider Dirty Trick of Overcharging Trump with Multiple Impeachment Articles

Desperate Democrats are looking to employ the prosecutorial dirty trick of overcharging President Trump with multiple articles of impeachment, reports the far-left Washington Post.

What we have here, although the fake Washington Post will never say so, is Democrats once again playing politics with something as serious as impeaching a duly elected president, something as consequential as overturning a national election.

If you recall, it was only a couple weeks ago that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was caught falsely accusing Trump of bribery. Not because there is a speck of proof the president is guilty of bribery, but because it polls better for Democrats.

In that same pathetic and un-American vein, here’s the latest way in which Democrat leaders are looking to rig the impeachment process:

House Democrats are debating whether to expand articles of impeachment to include charges beyond abuse of power in the Ukraine controversy, setting up a potential internal clash as the party races to impeach President Trump by Christmastime.

And hidden by the Post, under 20 paragraphs, is the reasoning for this, which has nothing to do with facts of the case:

Some moderates, however, see an advantage to multiple articles, according to three Democratic officials familiar with conversations who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk freely. A few moderates have actually encouraged leadership to let them vote against some articles of impeachment on the House floor while backing others, a move that would allow centrists taking heat back home to show a degree of independence from their party’s left flank and their leadership.

And there you go… As you can clearly see, this entire impeachment hoax has zero to do with the law, zero to do with facts, and everything to do with polls and politics.

It also makes clear just how worried a number of House Democrats are about the way in which this is playing out politically in their swing districts.

So is it any wonder the fake newsers at the Post would hide the real story under a thousand words of propaganda?

This is what shady prosecutors do when they don’t have a case, when they don’t believe they can win on the facts… They overcharge the defendant, hoping to win a plea bargain.

This is exactly what these shady Democrats are doing here, only this is a plea bargain with fellow Democrats who are worried about being tied to Pelosi’s hip during the 2020 election. Team Trump has already been airing ads in vulnerable congressional districts blasting Democrats who have accomplished nothing in the House, other than to vote to overturn a presidential election based on wild-eyed conspiracy theories and nonsense.

Back in 1998, Republicans offered only two articles of impeachment against President Clinton.

Even though the Senate would go on to acquit Clinton (a decision I agreed with at the time and still do), the reason the GOP went with only two was because they actually had the goods on Clinton. There is no question Clinton had committed perjury and obstructed justice. Clinton was guilty as hell. We had him on video committing perjury, and what he did to conceal his affair with Monica Lewinsky was a clear case of obstruction. It’s just that no one believed you should overturn a presidential election for covering up a personal extramarital affair.

The point, though, is that out of four possible articles of impeachment, including abuse of power, the GOP settled on two because they weren’t doing what Democrats are doing today, which is to rig and manipulate the process (secret hearings, selective leaks, poll-tested crimes, etc.).

After Clinton was caught red-handed committing these crimes, the GOP did its duty. There were no secret hearings, and unlike Trump, Clinton enjoyed his full due process rights.  In the end, the GOP impeached Clinton based only on the facts.

Democrats are so desperate, they are looking at charging Trump with “obstructing Congress,” a ludicrous charge that ignores centuries of precedent backing the idea that one branch of government does not have power over the other. Can you imagine the mess that would be caused if all of a sudden one “co-equal” branch of the government was suddenly more “co-equal” than the others?

Naturally, though, the same media that claims to want to protect norms is just hunky-dory with violating the hell out of this one.

It is all so corrupt.

Anyway, because Pelosi knows she doesn’t have the goods on Trump, she is hoping to cover that sad fact up with volume, with overcharging, with a rigged process that falsely claims Look at all these crimes we have to impeach Trump with!

But when you’ve got nothing, you do desperate things such as poll test the crimes, and rig up a “look at all these crimes” fig leaf to hide the fact that you’ve got nothing.

House Republicans released a lengthy report Tuesday pushing back against the House Democrats’ impeachment crusade against President Trump.The 123-page letter is a thorough rebuttal to the Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment inquiry report which is expected to be released later Tuesday ahead of a second round of impeachment hearings by the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.Republicans point out in their report that the Democrats efforts to impeach Trump is politically motivated and an attempt “to undo the will of the American people” and “to stop President Trump’s re-election.”“The Democrats are trying to impeach a duly elected President based on the accusations and assumptions of unelected bureaucrats who disagreed with President Trump’s policy initiatives and processes,” the report’s executive summary states.Republicans noted that the basis of the current impeachment effort stems from the disdain of unelected bureaucrats of the foreign policy establishment who didn’t like Trump’s own approach to Ukraine policy.“The fundamental disagreement apparent in the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry is a difference of world views and a discomfort with President Trump’s policy decisions,” the report states. “To the extent that some unelected bureaucrats believed President Trump had established an ‘irregular’ foreign policy apparatus, it was because they were not a part of that apparatus.”Read the full report below:

Kamala Harris Quits Presidential Race

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) ended her bid for the White House on Tuesday amid dropping poll numbers and reports of turmoil in her campaign.

“I’ve taken stock and looked at this from every angle, and over the last few days have come to one of the hardest decisions of my life. My campaign for president simply doesn’t have the financial resources we need to continue,” Harris said in a statement. “I’m not a billionaire. I can’t fund my own campaign. And as the campaign has gone on, it’s become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete.”

“In good faith, I can’t tell you, my supporters and volunteers, that I have a path forward if I don’t believe I do,” the California Democrat concluded.

The development comes after Harris canceled a Tuesday fundraiser at the Paul Weiss law firm in New York City over what her campaign described as a “personal matter,” reports CNBC. The event, which was expected to draw Wall Street investors Marc Lasry and Blair Effron, had not been rescheduled by the campaign.

In recent weeks, Harris’s campaign found itself at a crossroads.

The first woman and first black attorney general and senator in California’s history, the nascent Democrat launched her campaign before 20,000 supporters in Oakland. Despite kicking off her campaign on a high note, her failed path to the highest office in the land failed to generate support akin to top tier candidates such as former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). On Monday, a Real Clear Politics average of polls showed her in a dismal sixth place with merely 3.4% of the Democrat primary vote, placing her behind billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

As the picture of Harris’s poll numbers began to look bleak, so did her campaign’s finances.

While she managed to raise $11 million in the third quarter, the haul was dwarfed by those of Biden, Sanders and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Further, in the same quarter, Harris blew $14.6 million — leaving her with a $2.8 million spending gap. Her campaign also deferred roughly $900,000 in debts, an accounting trick that inflated her cash on hand. Harris’s overspending raised alarm bells inside her campaign, while prompting outsiders to wonder how long she would remain afloat.

A recent round of campaign layoffs and a bitter resignation letter leaked to the press raised more doubts about whether Harris’s campaign would go on for much longer. Former campaign operations director Kelly Mehlenbacher eviscerated her former colleagues in a series of interviews, revealing to the New York Times: “I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is celebrating Harris’s departure, taking to social media to credit 2020 White House contender Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) for the development. The Times reports that Harris campaign aides believe the California Democrat’s poor approval ratings were made worse by a pointed attack on her record as a prosecutor from Gabbard during a July primary debate. The newspaper said Harris’s donors were “alarmed” at Gabbard’s searing remarks and viewed her response to them as “insufficient,” a position her close aides shared.
