Leading Orthopedic Surgeon Volkan Güzel, MD, to be Recognized as a 2016 Top Doctor in Houston, Texas

Volkan Güzel, MD, orthopedic surgeon at Richmond Bone & Joint Clinic, and affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, has been named a 2016 Top Doctor in Houston, Texas. Dr. Volkan Güzel is a very experienced orthopedic surgeon, and has been in practice for over 23 years. His career in medicine began in 1992, when he graduated from Cukurova University in Adana in his native Turkey. After moving to the United States, he completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and UT Health was also the location for his Orthopedic Trauma fellowship. A further fellowship, in Musculoskeletal Oncology, was completed at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Güzel treats a wide range of conditions relating to the bones, joints and muscles of the body, and is also renowned as a specialist in the treatment of sports injuries. He is known as an expert in the treatment of injuries to hips, shoulders and knees, as well as the treatment and management of arthritis.

Dr. Güzel keeps on top of all the latest developments in his field through his active membership of many medical organizations. These include the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the Arthritis Foundation, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.  In addition he is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  He not only treats sports injuries, he loves to participate in many sports himself including basketball, soccer, tennis, scuba diving and skiing.
