"Newton's Riddle" will help fool some people into accepting the Antichrist as the True Messiah

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I’m not blaming Neill Russell for writing a book or having a theory.  He doesn’t claim that Newton’s Riddle is anything but a fictional novel.  But I believe he is misinterpreting the prophetic theories of Sir Isaac Newton (and potentially misleading many Christians) when he writes:

“Newton, who lived some 300 years ago (1642-1727), was one of the greatest geniuses in all history, with perhaps the highest I.Q of anyone in history, except Jesus, who was God in human form.  Newton is called “the father of modern science” and “the father of the industrial revolution.” He discovered many scientific laws.

God chose Isaac Newton to impart many of His deepest secrets and riddles.  There is strong evidence that God gave Newton the most mysterious secret and riddle of all — the timing and the events of the end of the age!  You must read all of this e-mail!

Newton was a devout believer in Christ and Bible scholar, fluent in ancient languages, and who translated directly from the Hebrew and Greek.  He was unusually drawn to the prophet Daniel, which he began studying at age 12 and continued until he died at age 85. In fact, The Columbia History of the World, a secular history book, remarks, “At the end of his days he spent more time studying and writing about the prophecies in the Book of Daniel than he did in charting the heavens.”

Apparently, God Himself put in Newton’s heart this burning desire to study Daniel, then gave him the key to the timing of Christ’s return.  Could this be the final profound secret the Lord revealed to this godly genius near the end of his life — a secret “accidentally” discovered in the Library of Congress and republished just in the last few years — a secret so simple that most have missed it?   If Newton was correct in his interpretation of Daniel, the prophet to whom God gave specific timing, then the return of the Lord Jesus Christ will be very, very soon, indeed!

Newton’s understanding of one key passage in Daniel chapter 9 is fundamentally different from that of most common interpretations. In about 550 B.C., God gave the prophet Daniel a view of history to the end.  From Daniel 9:25, scholars usually add the “seven weeks (of years, or 49 years) and 62 weeks (434 years)” to get 483 years and calculate the time of Messiah’s First Coming. However, Newton says there is no linguistic basis for adding those two numbers (49 and 434), and to do so is “doing violence to the language of Daniel.” Newton says the two numbers separately speak of both the First and Second Coming, both being counted from the “going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem.”

Newton says the “62 weeks,” or 434-year part was fulfilled at the First Coming, and the “seven weeks,” or 49-year part will apply to the Second Coming. And three centuries ago he saw in the Scriptures and wrote about the rebirth of Israel at a time when such a thought was preposterous.

Amazingly, by faith and understanding of the Scriptures, he foresaw a “friendly kingdom” someday again issuing the “commandment to restore and build Jerusalem.” Now, centuries later, that “friendly kingdom” was the United Nations, which decreed Israel’s rebirth in November, 1947, causing Israel to be reborn in May, 1948.

The above is taken from my [Neill Russell's] essay on Newton written in the mid-1990s shortly after obtaining a copy of Newton’s commentary on Daniel from the doctor who discovered Thomas Jefferson’s personal and initialed copy of it in the Library of Congress, and who then got permission to reprint it in the original, difficult-to-read olde English script.

However, my [Russell's] speculations back then wrongly assumed the final 49-year count began when Israel was born in 1948.  At the time, it did not occur to me that the count should probably begin on June 7, 1967, when Israel captured Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.”

quote from https://twelvebooks.wordpress.com/2015/01/28/jan-28-2015-sir-isaac-newtons-work-leads-to-the-timing-of-the-apocalypse/

So having been wrong about the Messiah’s Second Coming being due in 1997, Russell now suggests that the Second Coming will be around June 7, 2016.

My own conclusions are that the Antichrist will claim to be the Messiah on June 6, 2016 – and I give a great deal of evidence for that date in my recent book, Antichrist 2016-2019: Mystery Babylon, Barack Obama & the Islamic Caliphate.  In my book, I also pointed out that some people are promoting the idea that the true Messiah will come on that day.  Many will be fooled.  As Matthew 24:24 warns: “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.”

If one takes Bible prophecy seriously, the Antichrist has to take power 42 months before Jesus Christ comes to destroy him.  We simply don’t have 42 months left before June 2016.  As 2 Thessalonians 2:3 says: “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.” Read Alan Kurschner’s “Antichrist: Before the Day of the Lord” for further clarification.  The Second Coming cannot come anytime, like tomorrow – or in 2016.  The reign of the Antichrist comes first.

I would argue that the order to rebuild Jerusalem (to which the 49 years should be added – which in theory tells us when the Second Coming will be) has been given many times AFTER the Israeli victory and expansion into East Jerusalem in June 1967 – perhaps most significantly – in December 1970.  Long time Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek formed a plan to deal with Israel’s territorial gains (of 1967) in 1968 which “included massive construction projects in the eastern part of the city, ‘to ensure Jerusalem’s unification, in a manner that would prevent the possibility of its being repartitioned.’”

“In 1969 [Prime Minister] Golda Meir, the Israeli ‘Iron Lady’, succeeded Eshkol and took control of the ‘unified Jerusalem’ project. A new master plan now proposed the development of Shekhunot ha-Taba’at, or ‘Ring Neighbourhoods’, a bizarre new turn in the dialectic of military, political and urban-development considerations. Rather than building outward from the older neighbourhoods at the heart of Jerusalem, this plan advocated the construction of Jewish residential quarters on its remote periphery, strung around the new city limits.” (quotes from http://newleftreview.org/II/81/yonatan-mendel-new-jerusalem)

Distant new suburbs would be built and they would be incorporated as part of a greatly expanded city.  The emphasis shifted from plans to reduce the Arab presence and build new Jewish facilities in East Jerusalem for a united Jewish capital city – to enlarging the city by several hundred per cent.  Many politicians felt that a distinction would someday be made between Jerusalem and other newly occupied territory.  Land outside Jerusalem, either by international pressure, or a willing land-for-peace deal – might someday be given back to Jordan (or a new Arab nation called Palestine) while Jerusalem, as the capital, would be non-negotiable.

As the Israeli government and military interfered with the original plans – in order to enlarge Jerusalem for maximum territory, minimum Arab/Muslim population, and maximum military defendability – public debate and disagreement on the expansion plans grew.  Kollek organized an international committee of 70 world renowned architects and city planners, hoping to legitimize and sanction the expansion and Israelification of Greater Jerusalem.  The meeting of the Jerusalem Committee was scheduled for December 1970 (49 years before my prophetic timeline ends with Judgment Day, as detailed in End Times and 2019) but there was so much disagreement that a secret session was hastily convened at a slightly earlier date, closed to the public. (p. 165 of Modernism and the Middle East: Architecture and Politics in the Twentieth Century)  The international members of the Jerusalem Committee condemned the updated plans (which had less to do with modern architecture or good urban planning and more to do with geopolitical and military defense concerns.)

Professional opinions from the committee were ignored, and “new-built houses, clad in the mandatory white ‘Jerusalem stone’, were positioned like turrets on the mountain ridges overlooking the city and along the arteries leading into it. The first of these [new Jewish neighborhoods] were Neve Ya’akov” which was started by the end of 1970. (http://newleftreview.org/II/81/yonatan-mendel-new-jerusalem)

In summary, I argue that 49 years from June 6, 1967 is an important date – but unlike Neill Russell, I argue that it will mark the revealing of the identity of the Antichrist, not the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.  I think that Bible prophecy, and Sir Isaac Newton – are being misinterpreted by those who assume that the Second Coming will be around June 6-7, 2016 – and that any beliefs in such a theory will help mislead many into following the Antichrist.  I believe that December 1970 is a more important starting point for Daniel 9:25′s 49 years (7 weeks of years): “So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks.”  I believe the Second Coming will be in late 2019.

If interested in more details, read End Times and 2019 and Antichrist 2016-2019.

Newton stated that the Apocalypse would happen NO EARLIER than 2060. Not that it would happen in 2060 just that it would happen no earlier than that.

“God chose Isaac Newton to impart many of His deepest secrets and riddles.”

This is an odd statement to make given that Newton was an occultist whose life passion was alchemy. Perhaps someone who views this from a christian perspective could explain this to me? I’m having a difficult time reconciling such a statement with Newton’s pursuits.

      • Damien

Newton wasn’t an ‘occultist’. He wa a devout Christian and a unitarian one when that was punishable by death (so he kept that and other parts of his life secret). He spent his life studying the prophecies of the Bible and eventually came out with his opinion that a study of the Bible showed that it was not possible for the Apocalypse to occur before 2060. The reason he did this was to try and stop the shiesters who wouldn’t shut up with their visions of when the Apocalypse was going to happen (it was always NEXT WEEK!!!!).

          Newton wasn’t an ‘occultist’.

Yes he was in the sense that alchemy is considered an “occult” science. Newton’s writings are well known. Maybe not to you, however.

        • CAPTAIN CHAOS!!

What happens when one mixes scriptural teaching with Eleusinian Mystery School teaching? We get Isaac Newton’s mingled seed. Was Newton a Christian? Probably. Possibly even devout. But Scripture contains plain and repeated admonitions against contaminating the holy with the profane.

Newton was, by definition, an occultist. He was an epopt and an adept. He was an initiate into the Ancient Mysteries. He therefore viewed Scripture through an occult lens – in much the same way the Scottish Rite, the York Rite and the Roman Rite view Scripture.

Because the man left voluminous documentation of his expansive study of Scripture, does not make him a man of the Word according to the Word. The Bible is a subject of great interest to the ‘Occult Sciences’ and for very good reason.

This alone is a subject worthy of considerable time and attention.

WALTER.. thank you for your perspective. It is important, as you have expressed, that the word of a man, even Newton, is to be considered, yet, questioned, always.

Newton studied the Bible more than anything else and left a paper trail about a zillion pages long:

yes he studied the bible.. and wrote profusely. Same with alchemy. Well worth looking into.

Several key prophecies have not even occurred that will take many years to implement yet. For instance North Korea and Cuba have not fallen yet.

One generation since 1967. So there is about average 25 years left before Christ returns and sounds about right for ALL these key prophecies to happen BEFORE Christ returns up to around 2047 max.

      • Neo

One generation as defined in scripture is 70 years which puts your calculation at around 2037. If, however, we calculate from the founding of Israel in 1948 then we end up with 2018. All this is only speculation anyway but judging by the rate at which events are occurring I’d go with sooner rather than later.

        • Pink Slime

70 years and if by strength 80 years. Average of 75 years , but always deduct 3.5 years for the reign of the Beast and the False Prophet.

The following ten points provide logical and convincing evidential proof that Daniel’s famous 70th week prophecy has no application to any future seven year tribulation at all. Rather, this great prophetic period of Daniel’s 70 weeks is a Messianic prophecy that was definitely fulfilled nearly two thousand years ago.

      1. The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of “seventy weeks,” or 490 years. Logic requires that “seventy weeks” refers to one consecutive block of time, in other words, to seventy straight sequential weeks. There is no example in Scripture (or anywhere else!) of a stated time period starting, stopping, and then starting again. All biblical references to time are consecutive: 40 days and 40 nights (see Genesis 7:4), 400 years in Egypt (see Genesis 15:13), 70 years of captivity (see Daniel 9:2), etc. In Daniel’s prophecy, the “seventy weeks” were to begin during the reign of Persia and continue to the time of the Messiah.

      2. Logic also requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it doesn’t, then how can it possibly be called the 70th week!

      3. It is illogical to insert a 2,000 year gap between the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel’s prophecy. No hint of a gap is found in the prophecy itself. There is no gap between the first seven weeks and the following sixty two weeks, so why insert one between the 69th and 70th weeks?

If you told your child to be in bed in 70 minutes, you obviously would mean 70 consecutive minutes. What if five hours later your wide awake son said, “But dad, I know 69 minutes have passed, but the 70th minute hasn’t started yet!”? After receiving an appropriate punishment, he would be sent swiftly to bed.

      4. Daniel 9:27 says nothing about a seven year period of “tribulation,” a “rebuilt” Jewish temple, or any “antichrist.”

      5. The stated focus of this prophecy is the Messiah, not the antichrist. After the Messiah is “cut off” (referring to Christ’s death), the text says, “And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” In the past, this has been consistently applied to the destruction of Jerusalem and the second temple by Roman armies led by Prince Titus in A.D. 70.

      6. “He shall confirm the covenant.” Paul said “the covenant” was “confirmed before by God in Christ.” (Galatians 3:17) Jesus Christ came “to confirm the promises made to the fathers.” (Romans 15:8) In the King James Version, Daniel 9:27 doesn’t say “a covenant” or peace treaty, but “the covenant,” which applies to the New Covenant. Nowhere in the Bible does the antichrist make, confirm, or break a covenant with anyone. The word “covenant” is Messianic, and always applies to the Messiah, not some antichrist.

      7. “He shall confirm the covenant with many.” Jesus Christ said, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many…” (Matthew 26:28) Behold a perfect fit! Jesus was quoting Daniel 9:27 specifically.

      8. “In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” After exactly three and a half years of holy ministry, Jesus Christ died on the cross, “in the midst of the week [in the middle of the seven years].” At the exact moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom…” (Matthew 27:51) This act of God signified that all animal sacrifices at that moment ceased to be of value. Why? Because the Perfect Sacrifice had been offered once and for all!

      9. “For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” The abomination that causes desolation (see Matthew 24:15) is not a simple subject, yet we know that Jesus clearly applied this event to the time when His followers were to flee from Jerusalem before the destruction of the second temple in A.D. 70. In a parallel text to Matthew 24:15, Jesus told His disciples, “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies [Roman armies led by Prince Titus], then know that its desolation is near.” (Luke 21:20) The disciples did “see” those very events. Because of the “abominations” of the Pharisees, Jesus told them, “See! Your house is left to you desolate.” (Matthew 23:38) Thus Gabriel’s statement in Daniel 9:27 about Jerusalem becoming “desolate” was perfectly fulfilled in A.D. 70.

      10. Gabriel said that the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel specifically applied to the Jewish people (see Daniel 9:24). During the period of Christ’s public ministry of 3.5 years, the Master’s focus was largely upon “the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 10:6) After His resurrection and then for another 3.5 years, His disciples preached mostly to Jews (see Acts 1-6). After that second 3.5 year period, in 34 A.D., the bold Stephen was stoned by the Jewish Sanhedrin (see Acts 7). This infamous deed marked the then-ruling Jewish leaders’ final, official rejection of the gospel of our Saviour. Then the gospel went to the Gentiles. In Acts 9, Saul became Paul, the “apostle to the Gentiles.” (Romans 11:13) In Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision revealing it was now time to preach to the Gentiles (see Acts 10:1-28). Read also Acts 13:46. Thus approximately 3.5 years after the crucifixion and at the end of the 70 week prophecy given for the Jewish people, the gospel shifted to the Gentiles exactly as predicted in Bible prophecy.

Some people believe in the “duality” principle of the Bible which does seem to be a theme that runs through it.

And like they say, you never know the prophecy till it happens after. Happen again? You decide….

    • anonymous

It is all these false self proclaimed prophets who are always smearing the word of the Bible. God gave each one of us their own mission in our lives that only known between you and God. Yet all these that claim bible versus are trying to have you stop and follow their lives and words. They are acting as Satan himself, to try and get you to follow them; using the Bibles words. Since when did God give any human his power to speak for him, and act on his behalf? He didn’t so you see, if you follow and read them, you are all being tempted by THE DEVIL HIMSELF. Yet this self imposed prophets think just because they read the book one way, that is the only meaning, and SATAN as hiding behind the name of God and The Bible. But Satan himself knows each and every word of the Bible, and tempt you, as all the false prophets who post comments to follow them. That is why we all get sick and tired of reading that stuff… They pick and choose whatever verse that fits their agenda, yet you can do this with any book ever written. Newton wants each of to use our own brain and think for ourselves…

Sorry, Mr. Montaigne, but the Second Coming of Christ won’t be taking place in 2019 — nor will it be taking place anytime soon. It’s at least 1,000 years away — perhaps several thousand years away.

Do you realize what the Second Advent of Christ represents? It represents the consummation of human history, the Last Judgment and the end of time. And you predict this will occur in 2019? What have you been smoking?

Before the end of time, every prophecy in the Bible must come true, and Holy Writ contains a slew of prophecies yet unfulfilled that will take at least 1,000 years to unfold. One such prophecy predicts the coming of a very lengthy “holy age.” (SIRACH 24:46, ACTS 3:20-21, etc. etc.) There are literally hundreds of Bible prophecies describing in great detail the nature f the “holy age.” By what authority do you feel entitled to brush all these Divine promises aside and thereby lead people astray?

After the very brief reign of Antichrist, Christ and His Angels (veiled by the powers of nature) will “visit” the earth to annihilate the kingdom of the beast and purify the world back to an Eden-like state in anticipation of the “holy age,” which will offer purity, bounty, peace and much more. This is what the Bible says and this is what is guaranteed to happen.

      • am123

At least you didn’t mention 3 days of darkness Louis, I’ll give you that

      • Neo

What are YOU smoking? This world won’t last another 30 years without divine intervention, let alone 1,000 years. If you think otherwise then you haven’t been paying attention. Your interpretation of what the Bible says is a flight of fancy that bears no resemblance to reality. When Christ returns there will be no mistaking WHO HE IS, He won’t be “veiled by the powers of nature”. And His “visit” will last 1,000 years during which time the earth will be restored.

Oh, and I wouldn’t place too much importance on the books of the Apocrypha. If one sits in a field for a week eating nothing but mushrooms, is it really surprising when one has visions??

    • am123

It would do Christians of today well to consider what Newton said concerning the importance of Christians knowing the end time prophecies. Newton drew a parallel between how the learned Jews missed the first coming of the Messiah because they were deceived and how it will be no less possible for Christians to be deceived by the antichrist. Newton said if God was angry with the Jews for not searching more diligently into the prophecies which He had given them to know Christ by, why should we think He will excuse us for not searching into the prophecies which He has given us to know the antichrist by, for surely it must be as easy for Christians to be deceived by the antichrist as it was for the Jews to reject Christ Newton postulated, saying it is as much our duty to endeavor to be able to know the antichrist and avoid him as it was the duty of the Jews to know Christ and to follow Him. I agree with Newton here.

      • taranisx

I agree with you about Newton. He was definitely a believer in God and Christ, etc. The other labels are misleading at best. This short piece sums him up well http://jahtruth.net/newton

And about his analysis of Daniel’s timelines, its all already been correctly decoded in the King of kings’ Bible http://jahtruth.net/kofkad as follows:

Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by Him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a Time (360), Times (2 = 720), and an half (180) (1260 years in total – 9/Dec./1917 when Jerusalem was liberated from the “Treading Down of Jerusalem by the Gentiles); and when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of The Holy People (Israel – Gen. 48:11; 16)(Rev. 11:3; 7), all these [things] shall be finished.
12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what [shall be] the end of these [things]?
12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and “sealed” till the time of the end.
12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
12:11 And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days (ended on 22/April/1948).

And the Second Coming is here http://jahtruth.net/emmau2

Newton. “He discovered many scientific laws.”

That’s an inaccurate and misleading statement. Newton was into alchemy more than anything else, (trying to turn lead into gold, as in ‘get rich quick’.). He for example, observed and labeled the phenomena of gravity, we are still trying to figure out what causes it. There have been many theories, but the latest theory of Electro Magnetism seems to be correct, only time and more experimentation will tell. So Newtons foundation for classical mechanics, is actually wrong.

Tesla and Leonardo Da Vinci were way more intelligent than Newton and definitely more intelligent than a man who turned down ruling the world in exchange for being publically executed, on the promise of ruling the world later.

uhhhh…. No,…. for so many reasons. Jesus will not return until after the tribulation. Clearly stated in Matthew 24, by none other than Jesus. A 3rd temple has to be built, there is the Anti Christ must be revealed… etc… way to much to happen. If Christ comes back then that would be great, but he cant because it would be in direct conflict with what his said in Matthew 24. And of course He cannot lie, sooooo…. This article is a definite No.

    • BungalowBud

Checking in here. Our USA #1 Prophet and evangelist for over 50 years was told by Jesus, that the Messiah was cut off. Jesus’ ministry was 3 1/2 years. He told the USA prophet that 7 years is a complete perfect ministry. Who carries out the rest of Jesus’ ministry? The Christ’s of Jesus during the time of the Anti-Christ. This is the missing generations of the 3 14 generations of man. Read again and count. Also, Rev12 has just been proven by computers that it occurred on 16 Oct 2012 – bringing forth the manchild to rule all nations with a rod of iron? This puts Satan in a rage. Joker commentaries say that was Joseph brethren and others say it was Jesus. Nope, these are hereafter the 7 church letters. Christians, don’t miss this opportunity to become the sons of God – just like Jesus, doing his works and miracles – travail to have Christ reborn in you – rapidly – a man that is fully matured by the Holy Ghost – he the spirit of truth, not a sex classification.

I like Newtown but we have the Nuclear War fairly timed so the 1960 appears too late. Impatient Satan is on the move now as he knows his time is short. See all the Nuke stuff on http://www.radfo.us – with other links to these events.
