John testifies to specific events following the 1000 year reign of Christ, but the New Heavens and New Earth is NOT one of them b/c it happens at the beginning: Isaiah 65 and the Bride, New Jerusalem, prove it!

Post-1000 years events underlined:

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

³ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

[John returns to testifying about the BEGINNING of the 1000 years]

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

[At the end of 1000 years]

⁵ But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

[Back to the beginning of 1000 years...mid-sentence!]

This is the first resurrection.

⁶ Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

[Flash-forward 1000 years again]

⁷ And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

⁸ And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

⁹ And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Revelation 20

Flash-back 1000 years once again.  How can we know?  Revelation 20:9 states “compassed the camp of the saints [hagiōn, Strong's 40] about, AND THE BELOVED CITY”: described in chapter 21 (and 19)…

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

² And I John saw THE HOLY CITY, NEW JERUSALEM, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a BRIDE [nymphēn, Strong's 3565] adorned for her husband.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

⁹ And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the BRIDE [nymphēn, Strong's 3565], the Lamb’s WIFE [gynaika, Strong's 1135].

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Revelation 21

That same Bride/Wife who participated in Armageddon, the supper of the great God (v.17-21).  Traditionally the marriage supper (v.9) takes place seven days AFTER the marriage (v.7)

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his WIFE [gynē, Strong's 1135] hath made herself ready.

⁸ And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness OF SAINTS [hagiōn, Strong's 40].

Revelation 19

Isaiah records the same events:  Destruction of the rebellious, a saved remnant {with a new name Rev. 2:17, 3:12} dwelling safely, happily in re-created Jerusalem on a new Earth under new heavens, and former troubles forgotten.

¹⁵ And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee [v. 11-12], and call his servants by ANOTHER NAME:

¹⁶ That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

¹⁷ For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

¹⁸ But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

¹⁹ And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

The New heavens and New Earth are even now being created by the destruction of the Old:
