Three Ways The Cloud Is Changing The Mobile Industry

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The application market has become a benchmark of the mobile phone industry in a relatively short period of time. Software developers are constantly coming up with new apps and ways to make our lives increasingly mobile. We’re getting to the point that we can do almost anything from our phones like balance our budget, check movie times, and pay our bills. These features and apps have expanded the uses of our phones far beyond the traditional call based approach, and have allowed developers to think outside the box and come up with newer ways for us to use our phones. Cloud Computing Services is the next great tool that will aid the evolution of the mobile industry and propel it in exciting and inventive ways:

Size Matters
We’ve been able to systematically reduce the size of our technology while improving their performance and storage capacity. Now programs are being developed with this in mind and they’re getting more intricate. We’re reaching a point where even our ability to improve storage capacity will mean nothing when considering the software that’s just on the horizon. Unless we want to start carrying around huge cell phones again that we need a backpack to carry, cloud services will have to be used as a way to free up hard drives and allow them to function.

Mobile Services
Mobile cloud computing is a way to refer to the Infrastructure set-up where both the data storage and the processing all happens outside of the mobile device that you’re carrying. All of those thousands of applications that we’ve become reliant on to get by will all be floating around in The Cloud.

If you’re not sure what this means, cloud services are about providing all of the computing, data storage, and processing power all from a remote location but that can be accessed by your phone. Think of it this way: all of those programs that fill up your phone and the apps that you download, they all take up space. The programs that developers are creating are becoming more and more complex and require larger amounts of storage space. With cloud services, you don’t have to depend on your phone’s hard drive to store all that information, rather, you can access it via the cloud and gain access to all the software you want without depleting your hard drive of all of its space.

Making Room For Innovation
Cloud services are giving app and cell phone developers breathing room. Now that the industry doesn’t have to constantly think of ways to store the software they’re creating, they can become free to explore new and more inventive ways to utilize existing and future technology. The Cloud is giving the market free range to create new ways to integrate technology into our every day lives.

These are just a few of the ways that cloud based services are changing the technological landscape. It’s also giving businesses and commercial sites the ability to explore their full potential and soon most companies will be using this resource to greater affect. We’ve already seen massive leaps forward in mobile capabilities, but what’s even more interesting is when you consider how the mobile industry will evolve from this point. Only time, and the market, will tell.
